Clean Sound with Fender Twin or Deluxe

I have been attempting to get a clean sound with one of the above listed amplifiers in the HX Stomp using a Peerless Cremona 16 jazz guitar which has a low output humbucker.  No matter how low I set the drive on the amps it is still overdriven. If I go to low the volume level is way to low to record with. I would think these amps in a live situation would be excellent for a jazz guitar, especially the twin reverb.  Has anyone had any luck using these amps for a similar situation?

Tanks,

Rich

You shouldn't have trouble getting a clean tone with either of those amp models. But without knowing what else you've got in the chain, what you're monitoring with, etc, it's a guessing game. Are you running into either the front or the FX return of a "real" guitar amp, or straight from the Stomp to a PA? You might have the output level inadvertently cranked in another block before the amp model. Could be lots of things...
