cgscotto1
The HX One can use two external foot switchesFS3 and FS4. You can assign the foot switches to either tap, prev/next, or flux in settings. However, it does not seem possible to have flux assignments in a preset assigned to either FS3 or FS4. For example, have a gain change assigned to FS3 and level assigned to FS4. When FS3 and FS4 are assigned to flux, it seems that one FS simply duplicates the action of the other FS. Does anybody know a way to have flux assignments triggered by a specific FS? I could do this with midi and parameters, but I thought it would be nice to get foot switches to do this.
c00lkatz
Footswitch functionality is very limited. You can only set tap/flux/prev for FS3 and tap/flux/next for FS4. These just emulate pressing the actual tap/flux button itself, and is mainly used to expand out so you have both tap and flux buttons without having to switch between them on the single button. Flux is simply an on/off setting. You can assign multiple parameters to flux, but you can't assign different flux settings per preset. It's a "flux is on, set these parameters here" or "flux is off, set these parameters here" situation. I think MIDI is the only way to do what you want, and even then, they don't give you MIDI assignments for level, gain, etc. It's simply parameter 1, parameter 2, etc., which is different per effect. So you'll have to assign different MIDI depending on which effect you're on. The HX One is very limited in its control - it is nothing like the other Helix/HX products. It shares the same models, same color codes for the footswitches, and that's about it.
cgscotto1
Thanks for the reply c00;katz. What you suggested is what I wound up doing. I have one external switch assigned to flux and one to tap tempo. I wan to change a setting that is different from the flux settings, I am using the midi switchable parameters. It works just as well.
