use Hedit HELIX under WINE (Linux Ubuntu)

Recommended Posts

Hello

I am under LINUX UBUNTU. I use WINE.
I manage to install Hedit for my HELIX and it launches.
Except that WINE does not detect the USB connection of the HELIX (although detected by LINUX and which appears in the "lsusb" command

Has anyone managed to use Hedit with WINE?
the lsusb command shows that the Helix is recognized by Ubuntu : us 002 Device 008: ID 0e41:424a Line6, Inc. HELIX
Best regards

I want to make a switch to Linux just now. I managed to launch HX Edit with Wine but have the same problem that the device is not recognized. As far as I searched the internet no one solved this yet. I tried asking chatgpt and it gave me some tips on to how to add the port into wine so maybe then it will recognise it, but since I've only ran Linux from and usb stick I couldn't make it work. When my SSD will arrive I will try more tricks. But meanwhile try asking chatgpt maybe it can help you out.

Your last resort will be using a Windows VM in Linux with USB Passthorugh. It's sad Line6 wont make and HX Edit for linux, tbh this is the only one software that I need windows for.
