jarablue
Hi everyone. I had the pod go and realized I don't need amp or cab sims since I am plugging into an ac15 amp. Is there any setup or config in the settings of the hx I need to do before using it with my amp? I am going to update the firmware but just didn't know if I needed to edit any settings on it to get a proper setup going into my amp. My ac15 does not have an effects loop. Only normal and top boost channels. Thanks!
Schmalle
With a non-fx loop amp you just put the HX before the amp. Make sure Global Settings -> Ins/Outs -> Input / Output levels are set to Inst. Other than that the main rule is: Have fun!
somebodyelse
Hiya, I posted on your thread in the POD Go forum. Once you get used to all the in/outs, you'll probably find you're able to set it up so that you can have it plugged in to both inputs and choose which output to direct the signal too - like having channel switching. I've been a Helix Floor user for nearly five years. My advice: don't expect to be an expert in five minutes. Work at it. Give it time. Learn the unit, properly. Get familiar with the manual. Make use of HX Edit. I'm five years in and I'm still finding new tricks with it. These things do sound spectacular - there are enough videos out there of people making them sound great. If/when it doesn't, it's you, not the unit. Once you accept that, it gets easier - been there, believe me. 'The tones are in there, you just have to learn how to get them out'
jarablue
Would I ever need to run effects in parallel? I am new to effects pedals like this and am a newbie relatively...been playing since 18 and now am 49. Not sure how that works. But ok. I am going to def have fun cause life was hard man! How do I direct the signal to each input? Use 2 cables? How do I configure that in the HX? Also will the sound come out from top boost and normal at the same time in the amp? I never knew it could do that if it does. Thought only 1 input was active at a time. Thanks!

Try two cables from OUTPUT L and R into the two channel inputs; if it works you can blend between them using the Pan parameter in the Output block (last circle shaped symbol in the patch's path).

Worry about 'complicated' later, but like Schmalle said, one cable each from left and right outputs to normal and top boost inputs. Set your preset to output left or right, depending on which channel you want to use. Once you get in to Snapshots... the world's your lobster :) Like I say, get familiar with the manual, watch some videos. You might find parallel paths useful as you get familiar with it all. You don't have to use all the clever tricks, but once in awhile you'll be scratching your head wondering how to do something, and one of those clever tricks might just be the answer.
