Keeping Stomps on when switching snapshots

Hi there,

I’d like to find out how to keep previously turned on stomp effects there when switching between snapshots, but without saving them. In other words, I’m on a clean sound saved without any fx, and I engage a chorus on a stomp but I go to a solo on a different lead snapshot, then when I come back to the clean snapshot my chorus stomp is still engaged until I disengage it, rather than having to engage it again. I’m sure I did this before but can’t find how to do it this time. Any help appreciated.

From the Helix Rack manual (I expect it’s the same for other Helix devices):

Snapshot Block Bypass On/Off
There may be situations where you don’t want snapshots to control a particular block’s
bypass state; that is, you’d prefer to turn it on and off manually. For example, you may
want manual control of a Boost block at any time without worrying whether a particular
snapshot might turn it on or off.
1. Within the Home screen, select a processing block within the
signal flow and press ACTION.
2. Turn Knob 5 (Snapshot Bypass) to set the behavior for the block.

Hi,

That only works if you have a HX unit with a large screen and 6 Encoder knobs below, otherwise it should be:

  1. Within the Edit view screen, select a processing block within the signal flow and press ACTION.
  2. Press PAGE > once and turn Knob 3 (Snapshot Bypass) to set the behavior for the block.

By default, all blocks are set to”On,” so that snapshots automatically control their bypass state. Change to “Off” to disable snapshot control of the selected block’s bypass state.

Or from within HX Edit.

To Store a Block’s Bypass State Per Snapshot - Click on the Bypass button above any block within the Signal Flow and set your desired bypass state for the block (or you can toggle the block’s Bypass button within the Edit tab). Any amp or effects block’s Bypass state will, by default, be remembered and recalled per Snapshot.

If you prefer to exclude a block from being controlled by Snapshots, select the block and set the Snapshot Bypass option from the block’s right-click menu to “off” (so that no checkmark appears at the left of the menu option). Or, you can right-click on the block’s Bypass button within the top right of the Edit tab and access the Snapshot Bypass command from its menu. Choosing the Snapshot Bypass option from the menu again (so that the checkmark appears at the left of the menu command), returns the block to the default Snapshot behavior.

Hope this helps/makes sense.
