Are Helix Parameter Controller Assignments Limited by Available DSP?

When creating a preset, if I setup a foot switch to make multiple parameter changes (e.g., adjust gain, mix level, tone etc.) on multiple FX blocks (e.g., a drive, an amp, and an EQ etc.) simultaneously, is this capability restricted by how much available DSP the preset has overall?

If not, is this capability restricted by anything in Helix (i.e., a maximum number of parameters a single foot switch can control or a maximum number of foot switch control commands a preset will allow)?

No, controller assignments are not limited by DSP.  DSP is allocated whenever a block (amp, cab, FX, ...) is added to a preset. Every block has a distinct DSP requirement whether it is on or off and regardless of what controllers are assigned to it. Each new block adds to the preset DSP load. When there is insufficient remaining DSP for a specific block to be added that block is greyed out in the block selection list.

Hi,

If you are thinking about “Snapshots”, then the only real “restrictions” are depending on how you set them up.

Snapshots can act as eight variations of the same tone, eight drastically different tones, or any combination thereof—all within the same preset. A single preset’s snapshots may accommodate all the various tones required for a song in many cases.

from the Helix 3.0 Owner’s Manual > page 45 > Snapshots.

Each of the eight snapshots in Helix stores and recalls the state of certain elements in the current preset, including:
Block Bypass—The bypass (on/off) state of all processing blocks (except Looper), independent of any footswitch bypass assignments.
Parameter Control—The values of any parameters assigned to controllers (up to 64 per preset).
Command Center—The values of any instant MIDI CC, Bank/Prog, MMC, CV Out, Qwerty Hotkey, and HX Looper messages, plus the state (dim or lit) of any CC Toggle, CV Toggle, and Ext Amp messages. See "Command Center"
Tempo—The current system tempo, if "Global Settings > MIDI/Tempo" > Tempo Select is set to “Per Snapshot.” (By default, it’s set to “Per Preset”)

Hope this helps/makes sense.
