Use PODxt Live as Sound output for MacBookPro Running macOS Sonoma 14.7.4

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

although I am able to run the Line 6 License Manager 1.16 and activate my MacBookPro (macOS Sonoma 14.7.4) as a device and was able to install the Line 6 Audio-Midi Driver 7.6.8 package, my PODxt live does not show up as an output device in my Sound settings. Also, although I can see the 'Line 6 Audio-MIDI Devices' menu in the Systems Settings, the systems panel does not load or recognize the connected PODxt live (see attached picture). The free POD-UI v1.5.1 software is able to detect the PODxt live just fine and I am able to read and edit patches using POD-UI v1.5.1 .

Does anyone know how I can setup the PODxt live as an audio output the device? My main goal is to play along songs or YouTube tutorial using headphones connected to the PODxt live.

Thanks a lot!

Markus

The POD XT is an older device that does not use Core Audio - it requires a driver. You can find it in the Downloads area filtering by Hardware, Software (choose Driver), and OS. However,  notice that it is not compatible with newer Apple devices,  with a M1 chip and running Sonoma.

If you’re lucky someone more familiar with Mac OS can help you with a workaround or configuration. Or, if this is important enough to you, you can obtain an old, used, cheap Mac computer that can run this driver and use this computer only for this purpose.
