Geuk
Hi all, although I am able to run the Line 6 License Manager 1.16 and activate my MacBookPro (macOS Sonoma 14.7.4) as a device and was able to install the Line 6 Audio-Midi Driver 7.6.8 package, my PODxt live does not show up as an output device in my Sound settings. Also, although I can see the 'Line 6 Audio-MIDI Devices' menu in the Systems Settings, the systems panel does not load or recognize the connected PODxt live (see attached picture). The free POD-UI v1.5.1 software is able to detect the PODxt live just fine and I am able to read and edit patches using POD-UI v1.5.1 . Does anyone know how I can setup the PODxt live as an audio output the device? My main goal is to play along songs or YouTube tutorial using headphones connected to the PODxt live. Thanks a lot! silverhead
The POD XT is an older device that does not use Core Audio - it requires a driver. You can find it in the Downloads area filtering by Hardware, Software (choose Driver), and OS. However, notice that it is not compatible with newer Apple devices, with a M1 chip and running Sonoma. If you’re lucky someone more familiar with Mac OS can help you with a workaround or configuration. Or, if this is important enough to you, you can obtain an old, used, cheap Mac computer that can run this driver and use this computer only for this purpose.
Geuk
Thanks. From what I understand, Line 6 Monkey no longer work properly even on older computers due to a server issue. So, looks like everyone with an older Line 6 product that relied on the Monkey software for firmware updates, unlocking effects/amps, installing drivers, etc...is now stuck with the equipment without the ability to factory reset (the case for my PODxt live at least), update firmware etc..... I am aware of the POD UI software over on GitHub which provides some limited capabilities. Nevertheless, if I understand correctly there is no possibility of upgrading the firmware or resetting to factory settings any longer. I found this workaround but doubt this will work well and I am not ready to brick my PODxt live: Line6ers, We've come to the point where Line 6 Monkey will no longer be available. There's a server issue that has rendered it unusable. Additionally, making it work for products that we no longer make or support is no longer feasible. Until we completely remove Monkey from our Downloads page in January 2025, we have a workaround that will allow you to use Monkey: Download and install Line 6 Monkey (Windows) from line6.com/software. Download the firmware you want to install from line6.com/software. Download your device's drivers from line6.com/software and install them. Launch Monkey. Click on the Monkey icon in the upper left and select "Diagnostics…". Click OK to the window that opens. In the Explorer window that appears (C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Roaming\Line 6\Line 6 Monkey), remove any .cfg file that may be present. Copy the attached "default.cfg" file into the above location. Quit Monkey. Power your device. Relaunch Monkey. You'll know this change worked if you can see a full list of devices to update. You should now be able to connect your device to Monkey and perform an “offline” firmware installation. When you click on "Firmware", then the "Update Selection" button, point Monkey to the location on your computer where you downloaded your device's firmware, such as your Downloads folder or your Desktop. If you run into trouble, you can always reach our support team at www.Line6.com/company/contact. We expect the workaround to work on macOS 10.14 and earlier, since that was the last one to support 32-bit apps such as Monkey. "Diagnostics" is in the Line 6 Monkey menu.
