psarkissian
No. Contacts, current draw and the power management circuit inside are different. So that would be a problem for the Variax and the battery charger. And there is something different about the circuit in the CS or Cameron-Sino batteries that claim to be Line 6 replacement compatible, but are not. I have had problems with those, damage to the Variax jack plate circuit, problems with the Line 6 battery chargers, and such. So those are not recommended, and advise against using those,... for now. --- If the situation changes with those, I'll let everyone know. Hello @m-me, Since the specs and dimensions are similar, it might work, but compatibility goes beyond size—voltage, current draw, and protection circuits matter. If anyone has tested it, feedback would be helpful before trying it yourself! kroger feedback Best Regards, James Batson
psarkissian
james589batson,... "If anyone has tested it, feedback would be helpful before trying it yourself!" --- Review my above post. I am the person at YGGI/Line 6 who services and repairs JTV, Standard and Shuriken guitars since 2010 (done close to 3,000 by now), and guitar with and without active circuitry on and off for decades before that. I've seen these battery foul ups and failures first hand,... to the guitars, the batteries and the chargers. Been getting paid to do this tech stuff for some 50 years now, and doing it in general for the heck of it since I was 11 or 12. Pretty much seen it all. Correct battery with the correct specifications, charge/discharge rates,...correctly matched components in general is a must. Hence my above recommendations. Don't want to see any of you blow your gear and as a result, have it end up on my repair bench or an authorized service center needlessly.
