Hey Helix Team,

As the Helix celebrates its 10th anniversary, what better way to commemorate this milestone than with a truly groundbreaking firmware update? Let's solidify the Helix's legacy as an enduring industry standard by adding the holy trinity of preamps: the Marshall JMP-1, the ADA MP-1, and the Mesa/Boogie Triaxis.

Imagine the sonic possibilities! These iconic preamps, renowned for shaping the sound of countless legendary guitarists, would add unparalleled versatility to the Helix's already impressive sonic palette. From the British roar of the JMP-1 to the shimmering cleans and searing distortions of the MP-1, and the boundless tonal sculpting of the Triaxis, this addition would be a game-changer for Helix users across all genres.

To further enhance the user experience, let's take inspiration from the intuitive visual layouts of the ToneX and Tone Master editors. A responsive "real amp" display within Helix Edit would provide a more immediate and familiar interface for dialling in tones, making the power of these classic preamps even more accessible.

This anniversary update would not only be a fantastic gift to the loyal Helix community but would also attract a new generation of guitarists eager to tap into these legendary sounds within the most powerful modelling platform available. By delivering this landmark update, Line 6 would undoubtedly reinforce the Helix's position as a long-lasting industry standard, a tool that continues to inspire and empower musicians for years to come.

Let's make this 10th anniversary truly special and elevate the Helix to even greater heights!

Thank you for considering this exciting possibility.

This is a peer to peer user forum.

There are no Line 6 staff here and only very occasionally do they visit these forums - See the “sticky comment” in the black banner stripe at the top of this page entitled “Welcome to the Line 6 forums” - plus, as you are already aware, IdeaScale has been retired - see the blue “sticky” banner above.

If you want to attract the attention of any Line 6 people, who may be even vaguely interested in your suggestion, then your best chance is either, the Helix Family FarceBuck group, or over on TGP in the Digital and Modeling section, but don’t hold your breath!

As for your “visual layout” idea, then you should be aware that over the past 10 years the skeuomorphic design discussion has been done to death, and it ain’t gonna happen.

If you really want to get noticed you could email (annoy) the people who are in charge - Eric Klein, or Frank Richotte. Not a trinity, more the Holy Duo - the only pair who could possibly implement your “groundbreaking firmware update”.

Hope this helps/makes sense.
