herkid
Hello , I can’t figure out cable connection , something I’m missing and my brain spinning around. Sorry English isn’t my native , I know about some grammar errors . Sometimes at home I just wanna play with my pedals and amp without helix LT, but with regular 4cbm connection helix must be turned on to let signal flow , and disconnecting/ reconnecting it all the time is “no go “ method even with patch bays so I had no option but have it turned on. So I’ve bought true bypass looper switcher from Saturnworks with 3 fx loops to bring helix in and out of chain when I need it. Problem is that I can’t figure out wiring !!! Lets see 1)I have my pedalboard with some pedals Helix can’t emulate or not as good with emulation , and/ or it helps save some dsp 2)I have looper switcher pedal with 3fx loops and in and out jacks 3) I have my amp with fx loop My Goal is -have my pedalboard in the switcher’s loop so I can use my pedals only. Have helix in the switcher’s loop so I can bring it in when i need it or bypass it without even turning it on. I still want to keep my amp connected to helix loop so I can use it as a block in the patch or bypass my amp’s preamp and use models from helix , depends on the mood when helix is on , or just play my pedals straight into amp when helix is off without rewiring everything I did connect my pedals into switcher but I just can’t figure out how to properly connect Helix to have ability to play my pedals without need to turn helix on, and still use my real amp as a block when I play with helix. I also have noise gate that should be connected via 4cbm that makes connection into switcher kinda tricky Please help me to figure out how to do it Maybe someone had the same experience Ps Yes I know I created troubles for myself with complicated wiring but it is what it is
kduck
I can try to help, just a few questions: Where do want your pedalboard? Before Helix, after Helix, or in one of the Helix effects loops? Where do you usually place the noise gate in the 4CM method?

Hello , pedalboard before helix not in the helix loop but in the switchers loop. Noise goes first in the pedalboard chain and gates only dirt effects And some pedals in between Ng- expression -compressor -synth-synth - distortion -fuzz - octaver - mixer( 2 dirt pedals in it ) - back to noise gate . Ringmod/rainbow machine/ phaser/ chorus out of the gate
kduck
OK, here is what I was able to come up with (see attached diagram). You will need to buy another true-bypass single looper, like the Compact Looper here: https://saturnworkspedals.com/product/true-bypass-looper/ Note that you don't need to use this brand, I just selected it because that is the brand you already have. Once everything is connected, here is how it works: Loop 1 will enable (on) or bypass (off) your pedalboard Loop 2 is not used. I added a patch from output to input so that if you turn that loop on, you will still have signal. If the jacks are normalled, you won't need to do this. Loop 3 will enable (on) or disable (off) Helix from input to the send block. The single looper will enable (on) or disable (off) Helix from the return block to the output. To completely remove Helix from the signal chain, you will need to turn BOTH loop 3 AND the single looper off. Alternatively, I think you could do it with a true bypass STEREO looper and only have to hit one footswitch. If that interests you, let me know and I will diagram it out.

Yes I would like too see diagram . i also was thinking about this route : helix out into amp return amp send into helix return helix send and IN into switcher ? switcher out into amp in ? what do you think ? I can’t text it out right now , I’ve got to play 5 gigs :),and don’t have helix and switcher on me :(

If your goal is to be able to play even Helix when it is not powered on, you need to have your amp effect loop run through a true bypass. UNLESS your amp has an FX Loop bypass switch onboard. This is basically what I have in the first diagram, with the addition of a true bypass on the amp effect loop to be able to bypass Helix completely. See attachment for how to use a stereo bypass looper to *completely* bypass Helix with one footswitch.
herkid
Okay thank you , yep I see just need to get one more switch
