timtoense
Hey everyone! I recently got a Helix LT and want to use it Live. I am using Apples MainStage where I set up different patches for the song parts. Upon patch change Im sending PC messages to my Helix and our Keyboarder to set the correct tone. For the PC messages im sending that directly with the "Send Programm Change" in MainStage and Im sending a MIDi file with a CC#69 message to choose the correct snapshot. When I switch patches with the keyboard of my Mac everything works fine! I want to use my Helix to control patch changes in MainStage. I dedicated two foot switches on each patch and snapshot to send out CC#99 messages to MainStage with which I can go to the next patch. That works fine as well. The problem is when I use the Helix to switch to a patch which then sends a PC or CC#69 message to my Helix forcing a patch change the Helix switches to that patch and then sends another CC#99 message forcing another patch change in MainStage. I used a midi monitor to figure out what's happening: 1. I press the footswitch on my Helix to switch patches 2. Helix sends a CC#99 message to MainStage 3. MainStage switches patches 4. PC message gets send to my Helix 5. Helix goes to the corresponding preset 6. Helix automatically sends another CC#99 message 7. MainStage switches patches again 8. MainStage sends PC information to Helix 9. Helix goes to that Preset or stays, if it was on that preset already Different things I tried to trouble shoot: - using different CC message from my Helix - same problem - using Hotkeys instead of CC#99 messages - total chaos and same problem - using the Note Send instead of CC send - same problem - only sending snapshot information upon patch change - same problem - checking that I don't have any Instant controls on my patches/ snapshots I could use an FBV controller that I have laying around to switch patches and that would probably fix the issue but I don't want to carry a second device if possible. We aren't playing with a click nor backing track so can't have a DAW control the patch changes (which does work btw). Maybe I'm making a beginner mistake as it's my first time live with MainStage and Midi Messages. I thought maybe there was a sort midi gate that opens when a midi message comes in and blocks consecutive messages for a second or so? Any help is greatly appreciated as Im very very happy with my Helix so far! All the best from Germany, Tim

Why TWO footswitches? Are either of those configured as CC TOGGLE?
vvndchme
Have you tried turning off MIDI PC Send in: Global Settings > MIDI/Tempo > MIDI PC Send I haven't tested this out, but Grok said it shouldn't disable that initial MIDI CC send.
