HX Stomp (XL) preset reset via MIDI

Hi,

I use the HX Stomp and HX Stomp XL. As we play a lot on click, I have created midi tracks for the songs so that I can call up my snapshots and effect settings synchronously.

Currently, however, I have the problem that when I have changed settings, I cannot restore my preset via a simple midi command, neither PC nor CC, as I cannot set it to the state stored in the device.

A re-selection of the preset via foot switch is sufficient without having to switch to another preset first. This means I can load the preset without interrupting the signal.

Does anyone know of a way to realize this via Midi, e.g. by calling a specific program change (PC) only?

There is no preset reload option for incoming PC messages.

But there is a Reload option for snapshots in Global Settings -> Preferences -> Snapshot Reselect. With that you can send a MIDI CC#69 (Snapshot Select message) to restore a preset if you know what snapshot it is selected initially.
This also works when you program your MIDI foot controller to send a combination of MIDI PC *preset number* followed by MIDI CC#69 *snapshot number*.

Ok, thanks for your answer! I have tried that, but it doesn't help me. I can use it to switch back to my snapshot, but I can't reset it to its original state.
For example, I change the bypass state of individual blocks in some songs. However, I want to restore this for the next song in order to have a defined state. I have too many combinations to realize everything via snapshots.
It's a pitty that this functionality doesn't exist, precisely because it can be done using the footswitches!

That would be an awesome feature if you could send a specific MIDI CC and then the preset would be reloaded from memory!

Did You try via command center on the current preset to assign a switch like: "HX preset" -> (01A-32D depending where is your current preset). If I understood your need it should reset the current preset to its saved state.

Like @enjaltsuggested Command Center's Preset Command does what you want on the Stomp itself. So if you program a footswitch to reselect itselft you can then externally trigger that footswitch with MIDI CC#48+X where X is the footswitch number. A bit clunky but it works.

Oh, excellent, that worked! I lose a footswitch because I use the same preset on my HX Stomp and HX Stomp XL, but I can live with that.

Now I can "simply" reload the preset via Midi, thanks for the tip, @enjalt, @Schmalle

Btw: you can of course also assign the preset button to one of the expansion slots, i.e. footswitch 4 and 5 on the HX Stomp, or 7 and 8 on the HX Stomp XL, so you wouldn't lose a footswitch on the device!
