MXR Rockman X100 with my pedalboard

Hi, I bought the MXR Rockman X100 to use as my main distortion with my POD X3 LIVE through the effects loop. The problem is that I can't get the Rockman's sound to stand out enough. I think I'm doing something wrong, and I don't know what it is. Can anyone give me some advice? Thanks.

Two mutually exclusive suggestions:

- consider placing the Rockman before the X3 Live input, between your guitar and the X3, rather than in the X3 FX Loop.

- tinker with the FX Loop settings in the X3, particularly Send and Return levels.
