minefield
I have a question regarding controlling Helix native with a midi item CC/PC messages in Reaper. I have successfully got it to select the playlist CC32 and preset PC (09) as per the documentation but when triggered by the timeline it toggles between factory and user playlists. Am i missing something somewhere?
rd2rk
CC#0/32 are the MIDI specifiers for a BANK(SetList in Helix speak) change. A VALUE is required to specify the BANK/SetList#. Some devices use CC#0, some use CC#32, some respond to either. CC#32 tells Helix that the VALUE provided is the BANK/SetList#. You then follow with a PC# to specify the Preset in the specified BANK/SetList. CC#32 Value 0 = SetList 1 CC#32 Value 5 = SetList

rd2rk
Your .mov link isn't found and your attachment is .php which is not supported. In the MIDI Event Editor go to ACTIONS and select "Insert bank/program select event. Enter the LSB (that means CC#32) VALUE (SetList#). Enter the Program #. If that doesn't work attach a screenshot of the Reaper MIDI Event Editor. Below toggles between two setlists and presets.
minefield
I appreciate your prompt reply. I don't want the midi message to toggle but just select the setlist and preset when triggered. here is the screen recording on dropbox. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/y2yy3qq3ks8fn6nr47ftl/Screen-Recording-2025-10-24-at-11.30.44-am.mov?rlkey=mivehcakphjup8ps4sbsgz5sa&dl=0 and the Midi event editor
rd2rk
TBH, I was wondering how you got Preset Changes to work at all. I didn't even know you could run the AU (MAC) version in Reaper, I thought that only worked in Logic. Since I'm on a PC I tested this on my physical Helix. When I try it in Reaper it doesn't work because Program Changes on VST/VST3 are not supported. @datacommando- you're a MAC dude, can you help this guy? minefield
i does say in the pilots guide to use the AU version
rd2rk
Yes, I'm aware. As I said, I didn't know that Reaper could run the AU version even on a MAC. I have used the AAX version with ProTools, but I hate ProTools and, TBH, having the HW Helix, I only ever use Native for re-amping. But FWIW - changing SetLists and Presets works fine in ProTools with Native AAX.

A little late with the reply, but I’ve been out of the loop for a couple of days, and got a funeral next week. Ho hum, nobody gets out of here alive, and at our age I sometime you wonder if there is any point in leaving the cemetery! Yup, I’m a Mac jockey, but mainly with Logic, although I do have a few more DAWs (Reaper, Studio One, Ableton, GarageBand, Avid PTools, etc.) available as test beds for situations such as this. I will need to check this out when I get into the studio, and like you I generally use Native for re-amping duties rather than MIDI automation. First I will have a look at the Dropbox video for any clue. This may require some head scratching, unless anyone else can jump in on this a little quicker. Hi, I got a little bit of time this afternoon to fire up Reaper to start to check out your MIDI issue. It has been such a long time since it had been loaded Reaper decided to collate/update all my plug-ins - around 300 including, my software instruments. Anyhow, it crossed my mind that you didn’t tell us what MIDI controller you are using to transmit the Control and Preset changes into Reaper. So, while Reaper was trawling through my VST/ AU folder, I had a quick look on YouTube and found this video. Not sure if this will cure your switching problem, but it seems to work just fine for this guy. Hope this helps/makes sense.
