Helix Native in Ableton: Does assigning midi control of block bypass stop me from using Snapshots?

Hi,

I'm a long term Helix Floor and Native user, but I'm just starting to use snapshots.

I have an Ableton session that I am working on for live gigs. This includes HX Native for guitar processing.

I would like to be able to use Snapshots, controlled by Luminite M2.

When I try to set up snapshots, I cannot get each snapshot to recall the block on/off settings I left it in. This only happens with HXN presets where I have already assigned block on/off to Switches in Ableton. If I use a different session and start with a blank canvas, it seems that I can assign a snapshot to switch books on and off.

Am I right in saying that assigning a switch to a block will prevent me from controlling that same block's n'off state via a Snapshot?

I would like to be able to use both options if possible.

Any help is gratefully apprciated!

cheers

On the Helix HW there's a Global setting in PREFERENCES called SNAPSHOT EDITS with the options to RECALL (edits are temporarily SAVED until you switch presets) and DISCARD (edits are NOT saved). It appears that in NATIVE the default is DISCARD and I don't see any way to change it other than to uncheck SNAPSHOT BYPASS, but then changing the SNAPSHOT back to the unmodified version won't restore the block's SAVED state for that SS. Your best bet is to set block ON/OFF status PER SS.
