gbr13697
I used Helix Floor for years, and I often assigned 2 blocks to the same stomp. I did not have problems getting the right block to switch on or off with the other doing the opposite, and the Stomp light ring switching on with the toggle option I wanted. I have been building presets on the Stadium for the last few days, and I have been struggling with getting this to work reliably and, more importantly, sticking. It seems easier on the unit, using the capacitive touch on the stomp to select the appropriate block, but still a struggle. Even more difficult using the editor. Has anyone worked out a foolproof sequence for assigning 2 blocks to the same stomp, with each in the correct bypass state, with the stomp light ring coming on with the right block?

There were times I setup my Helix floor and had to make sure the initial FX I wanted to have the colored ring lite up was on and the second FX assigned to the footswitch after assigning the first FX in the off state. So far, I have noticed this same behavior consistently with my Stadium.
mkopec
I am wondering if the command center would be best for this type of multi assignments. Not that I am proficient at using it, but would think you can set to either toggle between the two, or set the button for press on one effect, and release for the other? I believe the light ring would follow.

I believe the light ring would follow. You can do many things within the command center. Interestingly, the Helix would allow you to assign 8 FX blocks to a single footswitch based upon DSP. There is an old thread that said 8 or more blocks but I never needed that many. In fact I cannot remember using more that three. I predominantly used snapshots for the various parts of a song within a preset. I used command center if I wanted to have control over one or two FX blocks within the snapshot. I split my time in the command center for MIDI switching settings for my analog amp (Mesas Boogies using third party hardware relays units) when doing outside venues. In clubs and, with rare exception, under 5,000 enclosed shows I used just the Helix floor. I am awaiting the Showcase feature to be turned on for that "perfect number of footswitches" = zero jpd
gbr13697
After experimenting, I have answered my own question. Make sure both blocks are in the required active/bypass state before assigning to a footswitch, usually with one active and the other bypassed for a toggle switch. Assign both blocks to a footswitch in turn. Check that the operation of the footswitch does actually toggle the on/off state of the blocks. The light ring around the footswitch may not match your on/off requirement. If so, just touch the switch to trigger the capacitive block selection. The focus on the touchscreen will switch to the other in the pair of assigned blocks, and the light will also change state. Save the preset quick! Be careful not to touch the switch again with fingers, as this will switch the focus and light on/off state again. Just use it as a stomp with a non-capacitive boot!
gbr13697
Amendment to my method for assigning Stomp Toggle On/Off to a pair of blocks as above. There were bug fixes in Firmware version 1.2 as below. Snapshot bypass states of blocks not maintained when importing various legacy presets -Snapshot bypass assignments are not always recalled when assigned in Editor This was very likely screwing up assignments in V1.1, and the effects will propogate into V1.2 for presets made or imported earlier. Make sure Snapshot Bypass is OFF for any blocks you are trying to assign to a stomp for toggling. You may need to do this twice to achieve the desired state. The focus on the touchscreen will switch to the other in the pair of assigned blocks, and the light will also change state. Save the preset quick! Be careful not to touch the switch again with fingers, as this will switch the focus and light on/off state again. Just use it as a stomp with a non-capacitive boot!
lincolnpbarr
For me this issue is not resolved. I am on 1.2. I created a new clean preset, I add 2 delays to my chain. I set them to toggle bypass on "Stomp A1". If I have them working as intended with the pedal light non active while the first delay is on and the second delay is off and vise versa, then I make an unrelated change to and amp for example... then save, upon switching to a different preset and back, the state of the stomp light is reversed. Every time I save the preset and reload the the stomp light is reversed relative to the toggle state. I have test using "snapshot bypass" in both states. This configuration worked perfectly for me on my Floor with "snapshot bypass" enabled.

My toggles seem to be sticking using the method I detailed, but it is still fragile and flakey. It has to be said that Fractal is undisputed champion of pedalboard layout flexibility, footswitch functionality, assignments and expression control. What you can do with an FC12 and a couple of expression pedals is awesome.
