iskim86
Hello I currently own a Pod Studio KB37 and use Pod Farm 2.5 almost daily. I'll be moving soon so I will be selling my KB37 and will be getting a smaller interface (non-Line 6). I love the tones I'm getting with the Pod Farm, so I'll be purchasing a hardware-independent license (or an iLock version) and will be using it with my next interface. I own one expension pack, the Metal Shop. would it be possible to transfer the Metal Shop expansion from my KB37 to my new hardware-independent Pod Farm? I know transferring expansion between hardwares is possible (I've went from a UX1 to the KB37 previously), so I know it's possible to do it between hardwares, but I would like to know if it's possible to be transferred from hardware to software. Thank you in advance!
phil_m
If you were the original purchaser of the model pack, the model pack will be tied to your account, and really that's the key. The model packs are tied to your account, not the specific device. After you buy Pod Farm 2.5, you'll be able to authorize it to use the Metal Shop pack. It kind of covers it here: http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/general-faq/model-packs-licenses-faq-r490 Q: Can I use model packs without owning a Line 6 device?A: Yes, if you own a Pod Farm 2.5x license. Since POD Farm 2.5x allows you to use your computer as the authorized device, any model packs in the account that holds the POD Farm 2.5x license are also made available. Triryche
+1 to phil. But do not get the i-Lok, version, it is not compatible with model packs. Also, it runs only as a plug-in and will not run as a standalone on other USB Audio interfaces.
iskim86
so I should get the version that is not hardware-dependent AND not iLok-dependent? thanks
iskim86
on this page....... http://line6.com/podfarm/purchase.html If I click on the link for Pod Farm 2.5 standard (hardware independent), it takes me to the product page, and that page tells me that I need a POD Studio to run it. what's up with that? can anyone clarify this for me? Triryche
Correct. i-Lok = plug-in only, with not run standalone with other interfaces, not compatible with model packs, and no 30 day money back. Hardware Independent = will run with virtually any ASIO USB Audio interface + Plug-in + 30 day money back. Are you are referring to the list under Required Hardware? If so, I better title would be Compatible Hardware. If it were me I would wait until I had my new interface just to make sure everything works correctly withing the 30 day money back window.
