NoSlowhand
Hey all, I got my preordered Helix Stadium XL today. I booted up and right away the troubles began: —Won’t show a QR code…tried for three hours —Won’t let me log in manually on that next screen —Connected it via USB to the Stadium app and won’t update there either The USB connection brings up the old view like you used to have when manually managing presets, so I know it’s connected, but it keeps telling me that an update is required. But when you click Ok, the update box remains empty and no firmware update ever appears. Guess I have no choice but to send back to Sweetwater, but thought I would share this before someone else gets theirs and spends most of their day beating their head against the wall. Thanks. NoSlowhand, I have noticed the Line 6 servers are a little slow today, though it could be my area in Northern California as well with respect to our ISP. And forgive me if you've tried the following with no luck as well. I had a problem when I was trying to log into the Stadium using my username and password. My problem was that I am using MFA and had to disable MFA then reset my password. That solved the manual log in problem. If you do not use MFA via an authenticator like Google or Microsoft, etc then next ... I assume you've already installed the latest Stadium App (called Helix Stadium version 1.2.0 release date 12/17/25 and it includes the ASIO driver). Here is a youtube video of another person having the same issue of not being able to update via QR or manual log in. The second part shows the steps he took to get the Stadium updated. He shows the usb-c to usb-c cable plugged and connects to the Stadium via the usb cable as his connection choice but still says to make sure the Stadium and the computer is on the same wi-fi network. ( I have added another user's solution below this video ) Another user did the following "My solution to the problem was to install Line 6 Central on my laptop, boot Stadium XL in maintenance mode and disable wifi and bluetooth, reset to factory settings. Restart and reinstall firmware 1.2 over USB. That seems to work." Good luck Dennis
NoSlowhand
Very much appreciate it, Dennis! I do now have this fixed and let me pass this along in case this happens to someone else. I kept connecting the XL via USB to my PC to try and get everything manually downloaded. For those of you who don’t know this the Helix Stadium app immediately connects you with your device when you turn it on, but that isn’t the ACTUAL main menu. There’s another option to select from a list of devices. When I clicked on that option it brought up a screen showing Helix Stadium…not XL. When I clicked on a second icon for XL it gave me the message that I was about to overwrite software. I’m not sure how this happened, but it appears the wrong software was loaded on the unit and when I opted to overwrite it with Helix XL, the download immediately started and as soon as it was finished the QR code popped on the XL and I was logged in immediately. For those of you who have this problem in the coming days when you get your preorder. If your QR code or manual log in isn’t working on the XL, connect with a USB and make sure that your XL actually has the XL software on it…not the regular Stadium.
rorybgardner76
I am going through this, too. Able to connect my wifi, but No QR Code, and won't let me log in manually. I go to my PC and download all of the drivers and the latest Helix App, turn the wifi off on the XL, and connect the usb to my PC. When I go to open the Helix App is crashes before I can connect. I do have my Studio One daw and Presonus 68C on this PC. Not sure if that has any bearing on it. I am trying not to throw this thing into the Mississippi. cdcolmn
I am having the exact same issue. There is no QR code and the Login does not work on the Stadium XL. When I attempt to update the firmware it via USB does not install and says error code -3. I've spent hours on this, and cannot login on the device or update the firmware. smithgl12
I'm having the same problems as the OP and in the video. I can connect to Helix Stadium Windows App via WiFi and it won't download It says WiFi/Ethernet update not available, connect via USB. Every time I've tried to connect the via USB the Helix Stadium app crashes in windows every time. I also tried the Line6 Central software and Maintenance mode reset as suggested here, which didn't work for me either. [Update: Using a iOS on a macbook allowed me to connect the Helix app to the Stadium and update to 1.2 via USB] Thanks, Gabe
trevorbarrios
Thank you @NoSlowhand. I just received my Stadium XL from Sweetwater as well, and was running into the exact same problem. And the Line6 website support ticket submission was not working, so I was at a loss for how to troubleshoot. I downloaded Line6 Central and updated to firmware 1.2 from there. As soon as the update was done on the Helix, and it rebooted, the login function worked properly and I was in. Thanks for cluing us in! Shazz_369
Just got my Stadium XL yesterday (01/09/26) and I'm having the same issues. I did the same steps (reboot wifi, connect via USB, hardware reboot and evern factory reset) to no avail. I don't see an option to overwrite the current software on the Stadium app either. App is also up to date and I don't have MFA. Does anyone have other suggestions? Thanks.
dannywork
I'm having the EXACT same problem! I just received my new Stadium XL yesterday and I've been messing with this thing non-stop. I can't even get it to connect via USB-C, and I've tried multiple USB cables and multiple PCs. I've tried all of the solutions I've found online with no results whatsoever. I just created a ticket with Line 6 support. I've never been so frustrated with a piece of new $2K+ gear!
andrew_summers
I am having the same issue with blank QR code, missing 6 digits. I have tried all of the steps and now updated the unit with firmware 1.2 successfully, I can connect to my WiFi, I can connect to the Helix Stadium XL from my computer using the Helix app and it's fine. I have registered the device online with the serial number on the back into my account on the web site (I see the unit is running 1.2 firmware from the app). When I turn the unit on and try to log into my Line6 account from the unit, there is still no QR code or 6 digits. The manual login is grayed out but I can click on it and enter my username (also tried email) and password and it fails. I logged onto the site and turned off MFA, changed my password and tried it again and still the same issue. I am noticing some intermittent issues on their website too- sometimes a HTTP 503 error and sometimes 502 (bad gateway). It seems Line6 servers may be the cause of this??? This is very disappointing after spending a lot of money on something this is DOA. I was so excited to get this and start playing it but it appears it's either a bad unit or some Line6 problem. This is my first experience with Line6 products and so far, not so good. Not impressed...
pitoguitarra
None of the manufacturer's recommendations fixed the problem. Considering that it appears to be a connection problem with Line 6's servers, I tried something simple: I disabled "Date Time via Wifi" and setting the time/date manually, and boom! It fixed everything instantly! Incorrect time zone prevents connection to Line 6 servers.
