haasamps
I’ve loaded a 7-track backing track in Song mode, added a Looper-Record flag at bar 7, and a Looper Play-Once flag 8 bars later. The loop playback is consistently out of time. I’ve tried putting the Deluxe Looper as the first block as well as the last block in the chain, but neither fixed the issue. has anyone successfully used looper flags in showcase? Thanks for any reply, jpd

Thanks for any reply, jpd It is dragging behind the beat. The song was recorded at 112 bpm, and Helix Stadium Tempo set to the same. If I turn the metronome on during playback, it is in sync with the song, so it seems everyone is on the same page tempo-wise. but yeah, the loop playback lags behind, I think by less than a beat.

I learned that with the Helix I have to disengage the looper on the 1 of the measure after my set of measure for the looper. In other words, let's say I want a four measure piece to loop in 4/4 time. I disengage exactly, and I mean exactly, on the first quarter note of the 5th measure when looping. So if you already do this, what I do not know is if you have to flag it right at the measure mark or slightly ahead of the measure mark by an 1/8th of the initial downbeat when using Showcase. I have yet to fully use Showcase so looping isn't in my wheelhouse for Showcase right now. Wish I had a better answer. jpd

It sounds like your describing standard (non-quantized) looper practice, start on the 1, end on the 1. If there's something unique to Helix looper, please advise. I'm new to the Stadium and never used the looper in my HX Stomp. Right on the downbeat is where I'm locating the flags, "Beat 01, Ticks 001". I've just been experimenting with a 5-pin midi cable connected to he in and out ports, so the stadiums sending midi to itself. Then replacing those looper flags with MIDI Flags to send the looper commands via midi CC. It's seems better this way, strangely. Not rock solid, but almost usable. :). thanks again!
enjalt
could it be some sort of a MIDI latency issue?

Not with the looper flags, those should not involve midi. The use of the midi flags is my workaround for the issue. They work better than the dedicated looper flags. 1

Following up on this after further testing in case someone in a similar situations stumbles on this. I no longer think the midi flags work better or worse than the looper flags for controlling the looper in song mode. I think the initial problem syncing the loop playback was caused by the fact that I had a snapshot change flag at the exact same spot as the looper play flag. I moved the snapshot flag a beat or so away and that that improved the timing of the loop playback. It's not rock solid, but much better. Here is what's working best for me at the moment. Start Loop Record on beat 1, tick 1 Stop Loop Record at a later bar, beat 1, tick 1 Start loop playback one tick after stop, so, beat 1, tick 2. If anyone else has any insight, I would be interested to hear... Cheers!
enjalt
Wouldn't it be better to: Stop Loop record and start loop playback at the same time? If not your loop won't be synced
