LordOfMisrule
Hi, I'm running into issues when I'm trying to record with my HX Stomp XL. Issue 1: Global EQ not applied When I try to record the HX Stomp XL via USB into Reaper using the Asio HX Stomp driver it does not appear to be applying the Global EQ set up in the stomp. Is there a setting I need to configure so the USB output is the same as the HX Stomp XL with the Global EQ applied? Seems weird the Global EQ would only apply to the output and the headphones, but not the USB. Issue 2: Volume Haven't been playing with the HX Stomp XL for long and haven't been able to have a full band practice with it yet, but during recording the volume is very quiet. When my interface is a 0db it is barely noticeable, and when I increase the volume on the interface it starts clipping before it reaches a volume that I can work with. I can barely hear the guitars over the drums and bass recordings. Global volume is just set at 0db so I would presume this would already give me a decent normal volume. Thoughts? rd2rk
Issue 1: Global EQ is only applied to the analog outs, not USB. Issue 2: When using HX as ASIO, the output from USB 1/2 is around -12db into my DAW with an empty preset, depending upon your pickups. Adding the 2203 amp+cab with the default amp+cab settings I get around -18db. These levels are intentional to allow headroom in a mix for processing and other instruments to keep the input level below 0db (digital clipping) in a busy mix. To hear yourself, you should be DIRECT MONITORING, not monitoring through the DAW which will add latency to the sound that you hear as you play. If you're using an external AI, taking the analog outs from HX to AI with the default HX output settings (0db and Global EQ will be applied in this configuration), this should not be an issue. I'd need more info on your setup to speculate.

Hi, Global EQ is designed to be used in a live environment, where rather than having to edit all your presets to suit a particular venue, you can use the Global setting to sculpt you audio to the environment (roll off bass etc.) The reason that Global EQ is not applied to you recording is explained in the “HX Stomp XL 3.80 Owner’s Manual” on page 58. https://line6.com/data/6/0a00051afe12673ccd29b29f5/application/pdf/HX Stomp XL 3.80 Owner's Manual - English .pdf Re: Issue 2 - Volume. It would help if you supplied more info in respect of your recording set up. For example:- Computer OS, audio interface, and DAW. For the past 10 years I have been using my Helix floor to record via USB into Logic Pro X on an almost daily basis and can say that I have not encountered the problem you describe. See page 65 of the user manual for information on how to set up your equipment for USB Audio recording. At the moment my best guess is “user error” and unfamiliarity with the hardware. Hope this helps/makes sense.
