roy-c
That's it really. I live in Greater Manchester. I also travel to North Wales. I've had an original Variax - I believe this is the 500 - since they first came out. Immaculate condition and it works well. It's great for a Home Studio. I've taken up playing guitar again and noticed - when recording - that the G and B strings are quiet Now I could get a USB interface, XT Live or HD500 but (1) I'm not convinced I will be able to get them to work and (2) it just needs a one-off adjustment. I have done a lot of searching but haven't found a solution Any replies very much appreciated
psarkissian
Could be the G and B string piezos. https://line6.com/find/service_center/ There's a Line 6 service center, Morecambe, Lancashire, north west of Manchester. Contact them about checking it out for you.
roy-c
Thank you very much Opening this thread has caused me to question what I've been doing I haven't explored the sounds for many years and I hadn't appreciated that the string volume balance varies according to the model selected Therefore a global adjustment wouldn't work, and a visit to a repair shop wouldn't be the answer I now see that if I want to improve the situation I need to edit each setting that I commonly use I may have to come back here if I have any questions about the process, but in the meantime ...
