Talenless Posted April 14 Share Posted April 14 Hi, glad to see I'm not the last person on Earth still enjoying this thing. I now have it plugged into the front of an Orange Crush 35RT with a noise gate, compressor, OD and an EQ. Until I get an XLR cable and route the 4C method I only play high gain stuff, jamming to YT drum tracks in my living room I actually like feedback, and a bit of the humming "live sound" from only a moderate amount of filtering it sounds and feels more "alive" and dynamic but i'm wondering about tone-suckage and whether an external noise gate/suppressor would work better than the modelers. it would also free up a model block on the POD this is coming from someone who's just learning about noise gates, and proper chain setup in general thanks for any input Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It’s not typical but not unheard of either. It usually indicates a local (household) power issue. Try using different household circuits or at least outlets for your POD and computer. hurghanico Posted April 15 Share Posted April 15 The problem is called "ground loop noise" and can easily occur in certain situations, such as when two devices are connected to each other with a cable (audio or usb) and both are plugged into a power source. If you do a search on the topic, you can find a lot of information and various solutions. As a quick fix now, and since you hear the noise when you connect the pod to the computer, if your computer can run on battery power, I suggest unplugging it from the power outlet.
