Mobi
I have the Helix stadium floor together with a Mission EP-1 expression pedal connected via TRS cabel to the herlix control A/B input. I use snapshots. I use a wah pedal and a whammy pedal both controlled by the EP-1 pedal. I have created a split signal on my chain where the whammy pedal is on my main chain, and a split with the wah pedal in paralel. On all my snapshots my wah pedal auto activates when I move the EP1 expression pedal and the whammy pedal is disabled. That works fine. The problem is this: On 1 snapshot I want the wah pedal to be disabled/not cactivated by my EP1 expression pedal. Instead I want the whammy pedal to be active and controlled my the EP1. I am unable to do this! I can enable the whammy in the snapshot, but when I move the expression pedal it not only controls the whammy but also still activates the wah pedal! I have disabled the split signal on that snwpahot which contains the wah pedal, so in theory the wah pedal should not be heard in the signal, but it is still activated and you can hear it. The 2 pictures in attachment are: 01: Snapshot with split enabled and wah gets activated when I move my Mission EP1 pedal 02: Snapshot with split DISABLED (wah disabled) and whammy enabled. When I move my Mission EP1 pedal the whammy is working, but the wah still auto engages and also can be heard.
bearfacedcow
Usually when I am controlling a split via snapshot, I will usually control the routing values rather than disable the split entirely. jord

silverhead
I imagine you do this as you would any Snapshot parameter value. Assign the parameter to the Snapshot controller and then adjust the values as desired in each associated snapshot.
Mobi
Ok but can you tell me why when I disable the split, that the wah wah is still audible? Since I disable the split path, the signal should not go via the wah and as such the wah should not be audible right! Even if the EXP pedal still activates the wah block, it should not be hearable as the split is disabled? Is this a bug in the Helix?
silverhead
What type of Split block is it? Experiment with the various types to see if you can get what you want.

Since I disable the split path, the signal should not go via the wah and as such the wah should not be audible right! .. I don't really know, but the sole purpose of a Split Y block (the default type) is to route more or less of the signal to each path. It's not clear to me that disabling it should route 100% to Path A and 0% to Path B as you expect. Why wouldn't it make the opposite decision and route 0% to Path A and 100% to Path B? Or block the signal to both Paths rather than just one, meaning no signal gets through at all? Perhaps disabling it simply means that each Balance parameter is assigned to Center, meaning a 50/50 split. If you disable the block that is meant to split the signal unevenly maybe it just splits it evenly.
Mobi
So ok, I think I have finally solved my own problem... Instead of using the Y split block, I have used the A/B split block. Put the wah in the split. When I want only the whammy to be heard I set the route in the split to 100% to A where the whammy is located. When using the Snapshot for KITNO SOLO the A/B split sends the signal only to A. The wah is still enabled and controlled by the same Mission EXP pedal, but you can't hear it. (well I need to test this setup as I use the 4 cable method to connect the Helix to my Dual REctifier amp. Below snapshot is used for Distortion + wah pedal. The A/B split is disabled so the signal goes through the wah and also through the whammy but whammy block is disabled: Below snapshot is used for KINTO SOLO: The A/B split is enabled so the signal goes only to path A where the whammy is. whammy block is enabled:
silverhead
Good! You might want to submit a support ticket to clarify what the expected behaviour of the Split Y block is when deactivated. You may have identified a bug. If you do submit a ticket please report back. I'd be interested in seeing the response.
