LoudenDeri
Is there a way to NOT mute the microphone channel while tuning guitar? I usually talk to the audience while tuning.
silverhead
Check the Tuner Input selection(s) in the Tuner parameters. Make sure Mic is excluded.

I presume your reply refers to the Stadium XL, which has a separate Mic input. The Stadium doesn't, so I am using Return 1 for a Mic input (the mic is a wireless one using a 1'4" receiver). It's been annoying me for a while that I can't find a way to mute the guitar when the Tuner is active, but keep the Mic input (ie, Return 1) unmuted. Any ideas on this, please? rwandering
Both the Helix Stadium Floor and XL have a Mic input.

Of course it does - I'm confusing myself (one significant downside of getting older :o( What I should have said is that I use the Return 1 input, BECAUSE I'm using a (cheap/Amazon) wireless mic, which has a 1/4" receiver. I can't find a way to Mute only the guitar when the Tuner is active, in this case - so it does mute the mic as well. Any suggestions for an internal work-around (other than get a wireless XLR mic or even an 1/4" to XLR adaptor). Or maybe it's a feature request to add the ability to mute different inputs

The Tuner should mute only the selected Input(s). Assuming your guitar is connected to the Guitar input set the Tuner input to Guitar, not something like Multi. If the Tuner Input is set to only Guitar, then other inputs such as XLR or Return should not be recognized by the Tuner and hence should not be muted. This is exactly the problem; in my case, I have my guitar connected via the Instrument input, and I have the Tuner Input selected to Instrument only. I have the output set to 'Mute', which according to the manual = Mute: The input signal is muted completely (although it respects the Tuner Trails setting). This implies to me that it should mute only the input signal selected in the Tuner Input setting, and not ALL the inputs (otherwise what's the point of having selectable tuner inputs?) But for reasons I don't understand, when set up this way it also mutes everything else, including the Return 1 input, and therefore my mic... I've also tried setting Tuner Trails to 'On' which according to the manual = Tuner Trails Determines whether the natural decay of Delays, Reverbs, FX Loops, and the Aux/Return input continue when the Tuner screen is opened. Does not apply if Tuner Output is set to “Processed.” However, on the Helix screen, the explanation of the Tuner Trails function says on Aux/Return 3/4 continue, which is a significant difference as the Stadium Floor doesn't have a Return 3/4, it only has Return 1/

LoudenDeri Posted yesterday at 04:47 PM Author Share Posted yesterday at 04:47 PM Thanks for chiming in on this @littlespaceman Do you know if I should submit a support ticket as well? Or?
silverhead
Yes, open a support ticket also. The more users reporting a bug increases the chance that it will be fixed sooner than later.
