joeloduca
Hello All, Trying to learn how to make a trouble ticket with Line 6 on this, I've done some extensive testing and I know MIDI dangerously too well - I think there is an obvious OS/Firmware issue in MIDI on the helix stadium and this issue did NOT exist in my previous Helix Floor. I will test my Helix stomp to see if there is a problem there but I am almost convinced there is NOT. I use MIDI controllers on every preset and I like to have multiple MIDI CC's controlling multiple parameters.. IN my opinion, this is a way better alternative to SNAPSHOTS, you can add MIDI control flexibility to EVERY PRESET. You can also do gain compensation things that are a little harder to pull off on SNAPSHOTs. Here is an example how I do this: I set MIDI CC #14 to control the DRIVE of an amp. Simple law of physics: when DRIVE GOES UP, VOLUME ***ALSO GOES UP - sometimes SIGNIFICANTLY. To help compensate and make distortion more "tameable", I set the same CC#14 to control the same amp's LEVEL. So when we turn up DRIVE/DISTORTION, VOLUME dips a little to try to keep a more consistent overall volume.. Its not perfect, but I think it absolutely awesome to TAME the volume of distortion. Anyway, when I set up **JUST the drive to MIDI CC14, it works GREAT in the STADIUM with my external MIDI controller (and I have many of them that all do the exact same thing).. The moment I set up a second (of the same CC14) to another parameter (like amp level), MIDI OFTEN STOPS.. -- and by the way, USB MIDI does the exact same problem. anyone know how to get a trouble ticket into Line 6 to work on this in future releases of Firmware? Thanks MUCH! Joe
