JMC01
Last night I was in HD500x edit working on a couple of patches. I reduced an amp volume in a patch and sved it down to the 500x as usual. When I selected a different patch and then went back to the edited patch, the volume was back up to where it was before the edit. I did this a few more times, same thing. Finally, I did the edit the hit the save button on the pod. That saved it permanently. Any thoughts??
silverhead
Anomalies like this are usually caused by a loss of synchronicity between the HD device memory and the associated HD Edit program memory. It seems that can happen quite easily when you manually use the device itself while the Edit program is running. Were you possibly using both the device and the editor at the same time (prior to your final manual save on the Pod)? Even patch changing, or turning FX on/off, via Pod footswitch can cause anomalies like this to happen. General rule: don't touch the Pod while the editor is running. duncann
I've had this happen to me numerous times. While it could be what silverhead said, 99% of the time I use hdedit and never touch the hardware. I think it might be a very stupid bug in hdedit (a user input bug). It depends on how you change the value of the volume control. I've gotten in the habit of selecting the control by single clicking and then using the keyboard arrow keys to change the value, or maybe a simpler way to remember this is just ignore the edit box. I can't recall the strange behavior occurring since I've done it this way. Another similar and weird one is the minimum and maximum edit boxes on the controller tab. If you double click in the edit box to change the value and then hit enter, then change tabs and go back to the controller tab, the values you just changed went back to what it was before you changed them. Very aggravating.
JMC01
Thanks guys. You've given a lot of insight to this. Silverhead, I just gotta say......anomalies is a cool as %6&% word! Made me think of the movie The Matrix. LOL! Duncann, thanks for the work-around ideas.
