titchyblackcat
I've an old Pod 2 with 2.1 software and seem to have trouble with the latest Line 6 Edit being a bit haphazard. (Comms and Settings) Is there a recommended old version of Line 6 Edit that may be better for this old Pod ?
BillBee
Hey There, You are going to have to provide more info if you want someone to help you. Trouble? such as? Comms and settings? You should list your OS and what type of midi/usb cable. -B
titchyblackcat
Sorry . The pc is running xp and is connected to the Pod 2.1 with 3m MIDI cables. This goes to an M-Audio 2496 card in the pc. The pc just hangs (freezes) for a minutes or 2 sometimes or. just hags until i use taskmanager to exit I've tried Line 6 edit 3.06 and 3,04 so far but they seem to do the same. titchyblackcat
Seems to be a bit quicker with Line6 Edit 3.0 but won't exit without Taskmanager.
BillBee
With WinXP I just plug in a MAudio Uno and the latest version L6E just fires up. It may be that the USB interface is causing the problems you are experiencing. Wish I could be of more help but I have no experience with that PC Card. If you could borrow a pair of cables you could try connecting it directly and see if "its all good". -B
titchyblackcat
Pod 2.1 goes to the midi on the sound card there's no usb. On the M-Audio sound card there are 2 midi connectors so i think the connectivity is OK. Also this set up works fine with my Tonelab so i think the midi link is OK
BillBee
Hmmm I am at a loss then - perhaps you could try it on a friend's computer that has a direct usb port.

titchyblackcat
OK Thanks i'll update Java. As the machine isn't on the internet it could be an old version on there. I'll let you know in a couple of days as i don't have a lot of time at the moment.

toneman2121
it was a big issue way back in the xt era. some dude named supersupro even wrote an app to make edit work before line6 fixed the problem.
