tonetonytone
have been using a guitarport for years with gearbox with no issues on a mac osx 10.5.8 until guitar port stopped working, or so i thought, gearbox said nothing was connected eventually replaced guitarport with a second hand x3 live tried to connect to computer still have exactly the same problem i have uninstalled drivers etc restarted re-installed etc. etc. etc. when installing pod farm 2 install failed the installer could not extract files from the package for line 6 midi driver when trying to install pod farm 1 install failed the installer could not create the folder "/private/tmp/pod farm au plugin.pkg.1035rx0pvr". installed gearbox without any issues, have tried a different usb cable that works fine the software just isn't recognizing the hardware if anyone can help or point me in the right direction would be really really really appreciated cheers tony
Triryche
I'm not a Mac guy, but it sounds like it could be a permissions issue. When you say Gearbox installed, you will still need drivers for Gearbox to see it. Don't worry about POD Farm 2, unless you paid for the upgrade. Can the newest version of Monkey see it? Triryche
ESN unknown is a problem, it is the electronic serial number. I would try to install on another computer, if it instals then at least you know it's not the GP or X3.

Triryche
Not sure if this pertains to your issue... http://line6.com/support/topic/3415-pod-farm-2-in-garageband-10-new-one/?hl=%2Bmac+%2Bpermissions&do=findComment&comment=26617 I'll see if I can get another set of eyes on this. TheRealZap
you can always try removing the drivers... and actually using an older one.... there's certainly no 10.5 related enhancements in the latest: To remove driver 7.3.6 1- On a terminal run this command sudo pkgutil --forget com.line6.driver.xtaudio.package (enter) 2- Then this sudo pkgutil --forget com.line6.driver.xtmidi.package (enter) 3- Reboot To install driver 7.2.9 4- Downloaded driver version 7.2.9 http://line6.com/sof...a.html?rid=5675 5- Run the 7.2.9 driver package to install it and ended the process with a reboot
TheRealZap
another thing to consider... it has to be an intel mac.... if the reason you are on 10.5 is because of a PPC processor... then you'd have to try your luck with a much older driver package. tonetonytone
massively grateful for your time, effort and replies having established that guitarport was definitely working fine, had another go connecting to mac plugged in guitarport opened gearbox failed to open (code 80000003) could not create a thread tried to open gearbox again, gearbox opened but still not connected have always closed gearbox with macs red stop button, for some reason clicked on gearbox's on/off switch next to tuner error could not enable/disable bypass reason: (code 8000740D) cannot access hardware device so closed with red stop button as usual triryche the link you added was certainly relevant enough to make me realize that although i thought i had deleted all line 6 files before reinstalling i clearly hadn't. merely trashing all visible files obviously leaves hidden files behind so decided to have another go at deleting / re-installing but this time more thoroughly first step, applications / line 6 / drivers. this folder don't contain drivers, contains line 6 driver uninstaller uninstalled drivers. restarted. thought i might as well have a go at reinstalling drivers and giving it a go there you go, all sorted, it was that easy guitarport fully functioning plugged in x3live yes also fully functioning the real zap "To remove driver 7.3.6" your way ahead of me i'm still on 7.1.9 it is an intel mac, operating systems are like women newer versions come along sleeker more attractive which function better but ultimately no less complicated, so after years of trying to work them out, i'm happy to stick with what i got. once again a big thank you for your time and effort very much appreciated tony
