357mag
I'm playing a Japanese Strat with Duncan YJM Furys into my POD HD Pro X. I'm using the Brt J-45 Head with a Celestion Greenback 25 cabinet. Currently using a 409 Dynamic microphone. I have the Low Cut Cab Parameter set to 50 Hz. I like my sound but my complaint is it's dark. I mean kinda on the muffled, bassy side. I've experimented with the Parametric and Graphic EQ but it still seems to sound too dark. If I could keep the basic sound the same but just remove some of the bassiness and add some sparkle and mids/treble that's what I'm looking for. But I haven't been able to do it yet. Are there certain Equalizers and certain frequencies I should be working with? I like the sound of Greenbacks but they sure sound like a dark speaker to me. Can you help remove some of the darkness and bring me into the light?
stumblinman
I'm a big fan of the blackbacks... It's the cab I use almost exclusively. I also use it live into a DT25 though, so it's apples and oranges. Checking your input Z value may help as well.. Is it set to auto? Experiment with different values. It's amazing what a difference it makes.
joel_brown
I would suggest increasing the Low Cut from 50hz up to 80 or 100. Also the Input Z (Impedance) can make a difference. Instead of leaving it on Auto try changing it to different numbers. Larger number are brighter sounding.
