Hi all,
My Helix Stadium XL has been at the official service center for about two months for a freezing problem, and it still isn't fixed.
Symptoms
- If the unit is left powered on for a few days, it locks up. It doesn't happen right away, and it hasn't happened at boot.
- Wi-Fi is normally on.
- At home, it ended up stuck on the Helix logo screen. At the service center, I'm told the screen simply froze on whatever it was showing.
What the service center has told me
- They replaced the Sound Processing board, the UI board, the Switch board and the power supply unit.
- They updated it to the latest firmware at the time (1.4 or later).
- After all that, the unit still froze at the service center after being left on for a few days, so it hasn't been returned to me yet.
- They also told me the issue has occurred on other units, not just mine.
Since it reproduces at the service center, survived the replacement of the three main boards and the PSU plus a firmware update, and has reportedly shown up on other units, this doesn't look like a single bad part. A failure that only appears after days of uptime looks to me like something time-dependent in the software. That's my guess, not something the technicians have told me.
