I agree wholeheartedly. I've gone through several gear platforms over the years and jumped on the Line 6 bandwagon a few months after the Helix was released. I've been extremely impressed with the amount of passion the Line 6 crew puts into the Helix family and love the fact that my Helix is a better device than when I bought it. I feel it's going to be quite a while until the Helix becomes long in the tooth.

Okay, this is a weird request for an interface for the Helix. I'm a traditional pedalboard guy who liked to tweak settings on the fly with the edge of my shoe on various pedal knobs (usually with EQ, delay and reverb settings) and I'm looking for a way to do that on the fly with my hands. I have a bad back and can't bend down much and I'm thinking of using this primarily during rehearsals to tweak a patch but also use it live (need a little more mix and less feedback on my delay, so I'll play a chord, and quickly tweak it by hand.) I could do this with snapshots, with my bare feet to use the touch-sensitive switches, use an expression pedal, but I'm looking to potentially change any one or two of several parameters on multiple effects as needed. I could hook up a Win 10 tablet or laptop to do just that and run HX Edit, but I'm also curious is there is a way to assign knobs on a physical MIDI controller that I can connect directly to the Helix via MIDI or USB. For what it's worth, I ran the update yesterday without any issues. I don't know what (if any) of these factors made a difference: OS: Windows 10 x64 Helix Floor update v2.71 to 2.8 trustworthy USB cable plugged into USB 3.0 port on back of computer (didn't trust running through a USB hub or the sometimes underpowered USB ports on front) Process ran exactly as the Helix instructions state over about 20 minutes or so.

I was able to resolve the issue; I'd forgotten to select AES/EBU as the digital output on the Helix.

I'm also trying to do the same thing; I have a S/PDIF port on my Roland V-Studio 100 and I thought I bought the right components to make it work, but alas, no audio comes to the mixer. Unfortunately, I have no way to find out where the signal ends (is it making it to the transformer but it doesn't work after that, etc.) I thought I'd ask here to find out if there is a particular component that, upon seeing it, someone would say "no, that definitely wouldn't work." Just measured on my '59. It's 1-5/8" The Retrofit is a two-piece nut and looks to be a tiny bit more customizable and complicated. The Shelf nut is a one-piece that you just sand the bottom for height. Too bad it's plastic, but so is the one currently on the JTV-59. ** UPDATE ** Looks like the 1-11/16" would have fit better -- the 1-5/8" shelf nut I got was just a tiny bit too narrow. It works fine, but it should have gone with the 1-11/16" for aesthetics. Otherwise, I'm very happy with how the first-position chords play. Just as a side note for anyone interested: this Epiphone case works great for the JTV-59. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002D01K4/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It's a snug fit and probably wouldn't fit with the Bigsby, but it works great for the stock guitar.

silverhead, can you tell us what the nut looks like, based on the Earvana links that ColonelForbin posted? The slots are cut too low on my JTV-59's nut and I need a replacement. Thanks!
