Just got a Helix and love it, but I need to connect it into my stage rig that includes midi routing through an ICA4+, though the ICA4 doesn't recognize the Helix over USB midi. My rig includes several external USB midi controllers and a couple of ipads I use for soft synths and setlist management. Some of the tests I've run:
Connected the Helix to my Mac, where I can validate the Helix is sending and receiving midi as expected
Tested all my other USB midi controllers through my ICA4 with no problem. All are recognized
Took the same USB cable I had connected to the Helix and connected it up to an FBV Shortboard set up in midi mode. As soon as I connect that up, it works fine with the ICA4 and I'm immediately able to monitor midi data coming from it.
So I know the Helix is sending midi, I know the ICA4 is receiving midi (using a monitor app that will see any and all data coming in), and I have validated the cable is good. It's only the Helix into the ICA4.
Anyone know what might cause this? Does anyone else use the Helix and ICA4+ that can validate the same thing?
I am able to use standard MIDI DIN cables to connect, as the ICA4+ has Midi DINs, which does work - but I would prefer to use USB.
