  1. Thanks, DarrellM5! " Helix opened up a whole new world to me"... I hope I get the same experience. :)
  2. Okay, so today, I decided to go with the Helix (Rack version) instead of the Kemper. I ordered through GC so I won't probably get it till early next month. I've had my HD500 for a few years now and I'm ready to move on. I only play in my bedroom using the headphone or the KRK Rockit5. But last year I upgraded my FRFR solution using the Matrix GT1000 with the Xitone Cab. I know, that's too much power for a bedroom play. :) Anyway, I have over a month to try it and like it. If not, I would have to go with the Kemper.
  3. If you're still on the fence, this review should convince you to get one! For added reviews, visit his website: http://www.tonymckenzie.com/line6-helix-effects-unit-floor-pedal-inside-and-out-review.htm
  4. Thanks a lot, tommasi! I don't have a Helix yet but this patch will be saved and played once I get mine.
  5. That sounds incredible, tommasi! If you don't mind, where can I get a copy of that patch?
  6. Yes indeed! And what got my attention was the reaction from the Kemper users after he A/B helix (with the IR from Kemper) and Kemper. Most of them CANNOT even tell the difference and were impressed with the tone coming out of Helix.
  7. @jam... check out this video on youtube: I believe the uploader of the video has the IR you're looking for. Maybe, you can ask him to share it here.
  8. Make sure to read all the pages... http://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/helix-kemper-clips.1629076
  9. How's the Helix sounds through the GT1000fx?
  10. Thank you edstar for the clear instructions on how to loosen the trem spring tension.
  11. Charile_watt, how do you "loosen" the trem spring tension on a 69JVT? I'm sorry, I'm just a novice when it comes to guitar hardware adjustment. I'm asking the questions because I just recently changed the string gauge of my 69s JVT to 9's. Thanks.
  12. I wonder if there is a way to get the volumes close to the same level. It's not that big of a deal but sometimes I use the 1/4 cable when I need to have more distance from my POD HD Pro. I don't have a longer VDI cable, yet.
  13. Hello folks, When I plugged my JTV-69s guitar into my POD HD Pro using the 1/4 cable, the volume level drop-offs to about 20% compare to when I'm using the VDI cable. Does anybody else experiencing a volume drop-off when using the 1/4 input on your POD HD devices instead of using the VDI cable input? Thanks.
  14. You're not alone on this one. I have Vista too and I just figured out recently that with Vista, you won't see the Variax v1.9 and v2.1 on the Download page. So, to make sure that I updated my JTV-69s properly to v2.1, I did the update process on my Windows 7 laptop. And you're right! The Line 6 monkey on my Vista now shows that my JTV has v2.1 but v2.0 as the "latest" fw version. Weird...
  15. arislaf, I cannot open the strat setlist you uploaded. Do I have to be a member of VGuitarForum to open your attachment? Thanks!
  16. Thanks a lot Line 6 for the new updates on Variax and WB!!! I love how I can change things around in my JTV with my HD Pro, WB and HD Edit effortlessly!
  17. Thanks, Iknowathingortwo! It is kind of strange since they did the same thing with v1.9 with the Vista OS. Oh well, I'll just do the whole process with my laptop that has a Windows 7 OS. I'm sure it will still work with the Vista but I don't want to take any chances during the process of upgrading the firmware on my JTV.
  18. Folks, How come the new firmware Variax HD v2.1 is not available for the Vista OS platform? From Line 6 Download page: ..."OS: Windows XP, Mac OS X, Windows 7, Mac OS Snow Leopard, Mac OS Lion, Mac OS Mountain Lion, Windows 8, Mac OS Mavericks "... Note: Windows Vista is not included in the list and if you search the Download page and you're using a Vista OS, the Variax HD v2.1 DOES NOT show up on the list. (This also goes with the v1.9) Any clue on this one?
  19. Thanks, gangsterusa for taking the time to write your recommendations! I will definitely consider getting my jtv-69 "professionally" set-up. The challenge for me is finding the right person to do it. I'm a casual guitar player and just play in the comfort of my home. I never played in the band and don't know personally anybody who plays in a band. So I might just check out the classified ads around my area.
  20. Thanks, silverhead! I think I'll go straight to v2.0. I just play a few hours a week and really don't have time to experiment. I'm sure I'll be fine with v2.0 :)
  21. Folks, I just ordered the 69 at GC today! They price-match the sale price at Sweetwater and adjusted the price so I won't be paying any state's sales tax. Out the door, I paid $899.00. So, any special recommendations I should know about this guitar (i.e. Firmware/software update, hardware set-up)? Thanks!
