Hi All, The proud owner of a JTV 89, I recently acquired a Variax 500 as well and have decided to paint the guitar. My question is thus: How do I remove the rotary push pull guitar model selector switch? Everything else seems pretty straight forward on this guitar, but I'm not sure how to remove that switch. The knob doesn't seem to lift off like "normal" control knobs do and the knurled top of the control knob seems too solid to just unscrew, thereby allowing me to remove the labeled part of the control knob and subsequently, being able to access the jam nuts for removal of the push/pull rotary pot from the body. Any help is appreciated. I've looked high and low on this topic and can't seem to find any information on how to remove these bad boys. Thanks so much.

Hi, Was recently given an iPhone 4 for Christmas. I found out that the device was compatible with Sonic Port and since GarageBand was included on the phone and Mobile POD was a free DL, I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the Sonic Port. I also purchased Audiobus, so I could use both apps (GarageBand and Mobile POD) at the same time. That is what started this whole problem which I'll get to next: To my horror, I discovered that Apple doesn't support using these apps at the same time on iPhone 4, rendering the marriage of Mobile POD and GarageBand null and void. You can use one...or the other, but you cannot use Mobile POD and GarageBand as a couple, which really, really sucks, since GarageBand's guitar rigs are among the fizziest, processed, crapola sounding amp models on planet earth. What to do? I've been looking for an iPhone 4S on the cheap, since its chip set is supported with these apps by Apple, but haven't had any luck yet. So that's one option. The other would be to get an iPAD mini, which has a much bigger display, and at my age, a more readable display is a plus. Here's my question: does the iPAD mini support using the AudioBus app to marry Mobile POD and GarageBand? Other than that, if anyone has other suggestions, I'm all ears. Thanks.

Where is the demo of this amp? I know it's brand new, but I couldn't even find it on the Line 6 products page. Look under the Amps section (http://line6.com/products/# and http://line6.com/products/#category-amps): DT Series? Check; Spider Series? Check; Spidervalve MkII? Check; Amplifi? Ampifi??? Um...no. It's simply not there. But if you go to Products/Amps, you can find it. Looks like it's on the homepage as well. Good for me...or so I thought. The demo video which I was quite anxious to see and hear, will not play. Every time I hit the play button, I get an "error #2035" message. Next, I went to Youtube. After a protracted search, I finally found a small snippet of "demoing" on a NAMM video. Not enough to really give you a good snapshot of just what this amp sounds like and its capabilities. All told about 20 secs of a couple of guys jamming and that was it. After that I tried a Google search using the words "Line 6 Amplifi Demo," which yielded precisely nothing in terms of a demo of the amp. I'm like WTH? Where in God's name is it? You'd think if this new line is so great, there'd be demos out the wazzu of this thing prior to rolling it out. I want to hear the damn thing. Where are the cool demos of Line 6 legends, Joost Vergoosen and Sean Halley showing us what these amps can do? I'm amazed at the apparent gaping marketing hole left by Line 6 in its own product launch. If it's as amazing as Line 6 is telling me it is, then why can't I hear it? Geez c'mon guys; help me out here. I can't be the only one who's feeling the angst on this. The price is right; I just want to hear the amp....period. Please help a bruthuh out. This should be easy, right? Thanks.

Hi, purchased Sonic Port and AudioBus for use with GarageBand on my iPhone 4. But to my disappointment have discovered that this marriage of apps isn't supported by Apple. Upgrading to iphone 4s isn't an option. Therefore, I'd like to use Sonic Port on my PC along with POD Farm. The problem is that Sonic Port only has connectors for the 30 pin or Lightening. I have found adapters online which would allow me to covert the male 30 pin to a male usb for connection to my PC. Before I go and waste even more money, I want to know if this hardware "solution" will allow me to use Sonic Port with my desktop. Thank you.

Hi, First, let me apologize if this has been addressed elsewhere. I searched the forum for an answer to this question, but couldn't find one...hence this topic. Basically, I'm wondering if a variax 500 can be upgraded to a rechargeable lithium ion battery like the JTVs. I own a JTV 89, which I love. However, I also have an opportunity to purchase a like new variax 500 for a song. I'm thinking the current battery situation with these old variaxes are an issue. Therefore, I won't purchase this guitar unless I can ascertain whether or not the current battery set up can be converted to the new rechargeable lithium power source as with the JTVs. If this is feasible, please post any documentation, tips, tutorials, etc. Thanks so much!

HI, I'm considering purchasing a JTV 89. My hangup is that I don't know if I can do open tunings on this guitar, which is a deal breaker/deal maker for me. I know there are other models which will do this by default, but I don't like the look or the strat and LP style necks associated with these models. I also know that the 89 won't do open tunings as an out of the box feature like other L6 models. So to elaborate, I would like to know if I can program the guitar for the open tunings I want. I play a lot of drop tuning, shredder type stuff as well as open tuning, fingerstyle acoustic stuff. So the guitar must be able to do both with equal facility. Searched this on the forums, but no luck finding an answer. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
