Craig, I stumbled on this post while looking for info on optimizing my Helix / DT-25 setup after finally upgrading the head to the 2.0 firmware. I bought your Electronic Projects for Musicians when I was a kid in the 70's at my local mall music shop where I took guitar lessons. It may still be lying around here somewhere. I wish I had made it up to Moog to see you recently. I'm about 2 1/2 hours from Asheville in Charlotte. I have visited the Moog factory in the past. I just purchased The Big Book of Helix Tips and Tricks from Sweetwater and am excited to deep dive into it. I've had Line 6 gear forever, POD, Vetta, POD HD500, Helix, DT-25 and Helix Native, but there is always more to learn.

My DT-25 was making this strange noise the other day, any thoughts on what the problem is? Attached is a iPhone voice memo recording of the sound. I haven't played this amp a whole lot, I mostly use my Helix through monitors due to volume restrictions. It has never left my home. The tubes are the factory original tubes. Merriman Way.m4a

Great news, I thought this would never happen. Was fooling around last night with the Helix DT template, Midi control and the 4 cable method and was really impressed with what is possible.

Yes, I have a Les Paul and several Ibanez guitars as well as a 70's strat and I'm comfortable with all of them, just haven't decided which direction I want to go with a Variax yet. I just want to make sure I have the latest tech in the guitar.

I"m thinking a JTC-59 or 89? What year was the current modeling circiut board put into production?

I'm considering purchasing a used Variax to use with my Helix. I'm wondering what the differences between older models and the current Variax guitars is? Any downside with a used Variax?
