I am having the same issue. I am about to throw out my HD500. I have had the XT Live for 8 years....never ONE problem at all. I have had the HD500 since July.....probably about 30 reboot loops. I am afraid to gig with it. The power supply did go bad and I went to Guitar Center and bought a "Line 6" brand power supply. Still loops....arrrgghhhhh. I have flashed to 2.02 and then to 2.10....it still does it. I do admit, it happens only with the USB plugged in....I will try again this evening without the USB plugged in. Opened asupport ticket with support. Hopefully they won't say "Send it in and we will charge you $200 to fix it". I only paid $370 used (100% presitne condition...in fact, looks like it was never out of the box).

I carry my HD500 in the same GATOR case I carried my PODxt in.....a little tight, but fits. So, I think you will be ok with the HD on your Atomic amp.

I went home and hooked up the HD500 into my PC and it still didn't work. Tried different cables....still nothing. So, I did the big thing....reformatted my hard drive....actually am using Windows 8 (don't laugh), this isn't my main computer and all I will be using it for is HD500, Recording, surfing the web and Word or Excel. So, after reformating my hard drive and installing (clean) Windows 8....I hooked up the HD500 again.....still nothing. Then for an experiment I loaded the drivers and EDIT program for my XTLive. When I plugged it in it installed JAVA. My mind started flickering with hope. So, after it installed all the drivers, I went back to HD500 Edit.....hooked it up......voila....IT WORKED. I must not have had the latest version of Java installed earlier......just glad it works now! thanks for the advice and suggestions.

I am learning to work around my favorite XTLive amp....MS-Criminal. I am hoping they add some of the good ones from the previous versions of the XT line.

I think I diagnosed my issue.....it is my PC. I have tried it on all my home PC's (2 desktops and 1 laptop) and the EDIT program read the information but wouldn't respond. So, I brought my HD500 to work and installed all the drivers and MONKEY....hooked it up......WORKED perfectly. What is funny is that at work we are running Windows XP (32Bit) and at home I am running WIndows 7. So, I am going to reformat my computer tonight at home and see if that will work. When I first got my HD500 it worked fine......I think maybe with some of the Windows updates it might have done something. NINERS are going to DOMINATE!

Thanks for the suggestions. I will try the a different USB. The one I am using now is the same on I use for my external hard drive and it works without issue. I have a few of the cables laying around.....all about 4' long. I have tried most of the USB ports on the computer...but will try them again with a new cable. I believe JAVA is up to date but will check also. I am thinking that since I have the issue on 2 computers.....it more than likely is the USB cable. Thanks for the suggestions.!

Hopefully someone has some answers for me. I am using the HD500 (duh). I loaded the HD500 edit program onto my PC. I am running Windows 7 64Bit (everything is updated). I connect the HD500 and run the EDIT program and it loads the patches. I then try to pick a setlist to add or movie patches around and it hangs....it won't let me pick anything. Sometimes it will let me pick things....after I pick it and wait for 30 secs. or more. The only way I can I run Monkey to see if I am running the latest of everything....Firmware 2.10, the latest drivers are installed, latest Monkey is installed. My PC is only 3 years old. I have loaded it on my other PC and the same thing. I have tried flashing the firmware to a lower version (2.02) and that doesn't seem to help. I have had the XT Live for 8 years and NEVER EVER had this issue. Any solutions would be helpful. P.S. I have tried different USB cables and the ports on the front and back.

I use one I downloaded from Customtone called "Worship DIstortion". That is my main tone for most of the songs. I have the Lincoln Brewster patches also when I want to back off the gain some. I am running it in front of a Vox ADT50. So far, I am loving it!

I am having the same issue but with my Desktop PC. My XT Live worked without issue. My issue I am having is that I fire up HD500 Edit and I try to navigate to the Presets (Heavy, Duel Tones etc) and it won't let me pick the drop down. What has happened a lot lately is that when it crashes it goes into the boot loop and I have to do a Global reset. I had to do that last night about 5 times. I went back to Firmware 2.02 thinking that might help....but, it didn't. I am going to try on my other PC and also on my Laptop and see.

Got you beat....got my 500 about 2 weeks ago...albeit off eBay. I am in the "love/hate" relationship and starting to find myself comparing it to my tried and true XT Live....sort of like comparing the girlfriend with the Ex-wife.....LOLOLOL. It would be nice if Line 6 would offer an upgrade package where you send your 500 in and they put the new DSP in it. I would pay $100 for it.

I agree on the 5150 (aka "Criminal" from the XT Live). It would be nice to get the amps from the ADD-ON "MS" pack. What I would like to get is all the same pedals from the XT Live...i.e. Sine Chorus, a True EQ. Those should be easy to add...they have the code already, they have the aligorthms.....just add them!

WHat I have done and do is I search CUSTOMTONE.COM for tones that I like and I tweak them from there. Some are real close, some are way off or just awful. It is a great starting point. WIth the EDITOR program and being able to tweak the signal chain...it is way easier than the old days of the XT-Live.....keep with it and post your patches and let us know so we can try them out and maybe give our feedback.

Hey peeps, I am new to the HD500 community (bought one last week off ebay), but not new to the Line6 cvommunity. I presently have a POD XT Live and have owned the Spider 1. Here is my question. I want to convert the the patches from the POD XT Live to the HD500. I know you can't do a direct transfer (that would be nice). What I have done is take screen shots of my patch settings from within Line6 EDIT and want to mimic them the best I can. Here is my question: I am using the METAL SHOP Pack amps (i.e. CRIMINAL..aka 5150), that I bought originally for my POD XT Live. What amp is closest to that in the HD500?. Thanks in advanced!
