I'm curious about the various techniques people use to create custom guitars using workbench HD. Is there any kind of tutorial anywhere online, where people explain how the created a Texas Special Stratocaster, or a Paul Reed Smith, or a Fender Mustang? (Just three random examples) I'm interested in trying to build a Kurt Cobain Signature Jaguar, which has a PAF in the neck and a Super Distortion in the bridge. The best plan I have is to listen to clean sound samples of the guitar, and keep playing around randomly with workbench until my Variax sounds the same as the sound sample. Anybody else recommend a better technique, or recommend a starting spot? I was thinking of putting 89 pickups in the bridge and maybe a les Paul neck humbucker in the neck. Not sure what body.

I'm just wondering how difficult this would be to do, and if there is even room inside the guitar to route for humbucker pickups. Do active pickups take more room? Correct me if I'm wrong here, but active pickups require their own set up batteries. My reason for wanting to put active humbucker pickups in the guitar is that it's the one sound that the guitar itself can't model well. I figure if I could get an active pickup sound out of the Variax , plus all the modeled guitars, it would be ultra versatile.

I use Dean Markley Signature Series JZ strings, which are .12 to .54 They're pretty thick strings, but that's how I'm used to playing, and it gives me more of an authentic sound for playing 90s alternative rock, which is mostly what I'm playing these days. For a player who is more versatile I'd recommend lighter than I use, probably .11 to .52. I'm not sure why the Variax is stocked with such light strings on it. I personally can't stand the thin strings that come standard with it. They literally cut my fingers, probably because I'm used to thicker strings.

My favourite amp models are Fender Baseman Normal (Tweed B-Man Normal), Fender Twin Reverb (Blackface Double Normal), Mesa-Boogie Dual Rectifier (Tread plate), Soldano 100 Clean, Vox AC-30. From the HD Fully loaded bundle, I really enjoy the following: Remastered Marshall JCM800, Orange OR80, and Roland JC-120.

Hi, I'm looking to model the poly chorus effects pedal, frequently used by 90s alternative bands, most notably Nirvana. I took a look at the tone guide but it didn't help much. It just showed a yellow effects pedal with the letters SC on it. The closest I've been able to come to the poly chorus is using a combination of AC flanger, U-vibe, and slow filter. Has anybody else had any luck or have any suggestions. I'm pretty new to the pod 500x, so any suggestions anybody with more experience would have are appreciated. Thanks,
