  1. I purchased my first MOTU used on eBay for a reasonable price and it lasted for years. I think with the higher end interfaces you’re getting better preamps and AD hardware.
  2. I’ve had great luck with MOTU and RME interfaces. Not sure if you’re limited to FireWire, but I know older versions of these products fully supported FireWire.
  3. You might want to consider adding a simple midi footswitch, like the Tech21 MIDI Mouse for switching between presets.
  4. Try this one: https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/FS6--boss-fs-6-dual-foot-switch?mrkgcl=28&mrkgadid=3043258729&rkg_id=0&utm_source=MSN&utm_medium=PPC&utm_campaign=Guitars-Guitar+Pedals+%26+Effects&utm_term=boss+fs-6&campaigntype=paidsearch&campaign=Guitars-Guitar+Pedals+%26+Effects&adgroup=Boss-Footswitch+%2F+Selector+Pedals&keyword=boss+fs-6&placement=bing&creative=77859192045243&device=t&matchtype=e&msclkid=05e872616b85192caf672e46bf6afc75
  5. I’ve had mine for a few weeks now and really like it as is. I’ve built a pedal board around it now....MidiMouse, Strymon BigSky, nano POG, and Mission Engineering pedal. The Helix editor is awesome and I can build quality patches easily and quickly on it.
  6. I've always had good luck with MOTU hardware as well as RME ( my current audio interface). Whatever you decide to get, just check out what's being used for AD conversion on it first.
