  1. I knew that was how set lists worked but I figured if I told it to export a song to a file that it would export the PRESET and not the alias as I can’t imagine why I would export a single alias.
  2. Just learned the hard way that if you click a preset in a "set list" and export it as a file, it's a 1K file with nothing in it since set lists use Aliases. You have to export the preset from the "User Presets" list to actually export the preset.
  3. I'm such a sucker. Just pre-ordered a D10. I just enjoy and use my Variax control too much and have it built in to most of my presets.
  4. Ah I get it now after reading the manual. I misunderstood. Nothing got "converted." Anything that is under "Legacy" is a model that HAS a new Agoura model available. Any of my old presets that are NOT under "Legacy" just means there is not Agoura model available yet, so it's still just listed under "Guitar Amps."
  5. Super helpful! I’m just wondering now how the hell I missed the faint line in the list when I was looking for just such a thing. New gear excitement I guess! Very helpful info in that section of the manual though!
  6. Oh I missed that somehow! And I did go through it as well! I’ll take another look.
  7. This was a serious concern for me too. I went ahead and made the leap as with Variax discontinued (another HUGE disappointment for me as I’ve used them since the first one came out and they are my main guitars) I’ve been using my other guitars more. I don’t want to have to buy and set up another piece of gear to get Variax compatibility. I almost cancelled my preorder for a stadium several times but in the end I think I’m glad I didn’t.
  8. I can't swear to this but I believe this has happened to me if I turned the volume pedal down then saved the preset. On my old Helix it would save the position of the volume when you saved the preset.
  9. That is super cool! I had no idea "Stomp" was that flexible. I thought it was just 2 pages of assigning blocks on/off to switches.
  10. At the moment when you switch presets, there is silence for a brief moment while switching. Not a big deal to me as I only really use one preset per song, but I imagine this could be a problem for some folks. I'm just wondering if that's something that might come in the future, or if it's just beyond the capabilities of the Stadium due to processing power and such!
  11. Yeah I had seen that and also the video of Eric explaining the same basics thankfully so I had exported all my individual setlists already anyway.
  12. There's a LOT more models that are not "Legacy" models than I thought were launching (87 "Guitar Amps" alone)! How can I tell which ones are Agoura? Surely not all 87 of those are Agoura are they as I though only a fraction of those were launching on release!
  13. Just curious how many of you will overhaul your old presets to use the newer models (if they don't auto-convert). I personally chose to leave most on the old legacy models as I was perfectly happy with my old Helix tones, and swapping in the new models and trying to get everything back to sounding just right and volume leveled seems like way too much work for the hundreds of presets I've made for various bands in the last 10 years.
  14. Is there a better/official place to file bug reports? 1. Place an FX block 2. Designate it as a "user default." 3. Place a new instance of that effect. After designating a "user favorite" any further instance of that effect act like they have "snapshot bypass" turned on. If you turn it on/off in one snapshot, it will change for all snapshots.
  15. You're probably not as dumb as me, but just in case... On my old Helix I liked to have Stomp mode and Snap mode both with 8 switched plus preset up/down. At first I could not see any way to make this happen on the Stadium. Then eventually I figured it out. I set mode 1 to "Combo" and mode 2 to "Snapshot." Then on the next page of options I set "combo top row" to "Stomp A2-5" and "combo bottom row" to "Stomp A8-11." Duh. Still getting used to the new workflow after 10 years with my old Helix!
  16. Got my Stadium XL today and confirmed that it does indeed do NOTHING. Variax doesn't even power on via VDI which is what I expected.
  17. I just had a thought. Maybe it’s because some amps are single amps while other are now “multi-channel.” So like there’s only one version of the jazz rivet 120 but double vibe, plexi, etc. had “normal” and “bright” versions which are now all one agoura model with multiple “channels.” But I still figured it could have just converted a legacy “bright plexi” to the bright channel of the new plexi. This is all just guessing.
  18. I was going over some of my imported old Helix patches and am baffled why some seemed to use the new Agoura models and some don't even though there does seem to be an Agoura counterpart. For example, patches using the legacy J45 do seem to now be using the Agoura J45. Same with Jazz rivet 120, Grammatico, Cali IV Rhythm 1, Matchstick 1. But any patches using a Brit Plexi (bright or jump, that I've seen) are still using the old legacy model. Same with Essex 30TB, Double Vibe, US Small Tweed.
  19. No I do not know that which is why I asked. Since the Nexus has the ability to power the D10 I didn't know if MAYBE it would at least power the guitar if not be able to "control" it. However in further thinking, even if it DID power it, I feel fairly certain there would be no audio so that wouldn't do much good. I guess a part of me HOPED that maybe it would at least power it and have audio, but just just couldn't "control" it by selecting guitars, pickups, tunings, etc. but I realize that's 99.9% probably not the case. I would just like to know with 100% certainty if anything at all happens if you hook the guitar up directly.
  20. Just curious, does hooking a Variax up DIRECTLY to the Stadium just do nothing now? I am NOT a fan of the fact that I will now need to spend over $200 for an outboard piece of gear (Expand D10) to have the same Variax functionality as I've always had with my Helix, on top of the $2200 for a Stadium XL. The cost is one factor but I also just like the all-in-one solution of my Helix and don't want to have to bring and hook up another piece of gear. If I keep my Stadium XL pre-order, I may just go back to using my Variax with the battery and 1/4" output, though I hate to do that as I currently have ever preset recall guitar/pickup/tuning in the Variax as well. And sometimes change tunings for a slide solo or such. Just trying to suss out if I want to lose some of my favorite functionality for the benefits of a Stadium, or deal with a D10, or maybe just play my non-Variax guitars more (though my JTV-69 remains my #1 guitar and I am deeply disappointed Variaxes were discontinued as someone who has used one since the very first model)! DILEMMAS.
  21. I know that with Stadium you need the Expand D10 for Variax control (boooooo) but I'm curious if anyone knows if plugging the Variax into the Stadium directly (without the D10) will at least POWER it, even if I can't fully control it.
  22. It is a bummer though. I mean I see the same jack for Nexus so it just feels like having the Variax support in there wouldn't be a big lift. I wonder if it would at lest POWER the Variax without the accessory even if you can control any Variax functions.
  23. Oh they are making REAL hard for me to not want to upgrade! Now the ONLY downsides are having to use an outboard accessory for Variax support (I quite often use Variax with VDI for no brainer guitar/pickup/tuning switching with presets and snapshots) and the fact that I own 2 Helixes so I have a backup when one needs a footswitch repaired or such. I use my Helix for EVERYTHING including MIDI keyboard control with many different bands.
  24. Just watched the videos about the upcoming Helix Stadium. Pretty cool but I'm HOPING I can resist the GAS and just keep using the 2 helixes I own which I'm totally happy with. 2 question arise for me though: 1. What are the models it ships with? 2. While they have made it VERY tempting by being able to import my old presets (I cannot imagine having to recreate the hundreds of presets I've made for many bands including MIDI control of my keyboard), I'm curious to know how it handles the translation. If I'm using an amp, effect, etc. that's not in the Stadium, how does it handle that?
