  1. Have a Helix. Updated to most current version as well as HX Edit 3. Running a Variax through it. Was playing last week and the sound started to rapidly cut in and out. Eventually the audio just went away. Did a hard reset and loaded a backup. Seemed to work better until I played at a church service. Rehearsal was fine and I left the device on until the service started (Half hour or so from the end of rehearsal). Came to play and no audio. Nothing. Turned it off and back on...still nothing. The tuner was seeing audio from the guitar, just no output. Solutions?
  2. Update - Was at the second campus last night for practice and the engineer didn't notice any discrepancies between the left and right signals. Must be an issue with the board at the other location. Thanks for everyone's tips and suggestions!
  3. Yo. Don't get bent out of shape about it. The fact of the matter is that there are (for a number of reasons) not a ton of working pros out there in high profile gigs using the Helix yet, and the question carries with it an implication for some people that if the pros aren't using it, is it really worth $1500? I get what you're asking and understand that you're not implying that question, but it's reasonable to think that someone would, thus the 'who cares what the pros do' responses. The question can come off as someone being asked to validate their investment, even if that's not what you intended. Expect some pushback.
  4. Didn't have time to check other channels, but I've got the engineer looking into the phantom power thing. Playing at a satellite campus for the same church this weekend so I'll check to see if I have the same issues with their board. Thanks for the input!
  5. Good idea. I know the channels they're using for the EGT are normally coming from amps, so they might be feeding phantom power to a mic.
  6. So i've been mostly working at home to set up my presets for a church gig I have on a weekly basis. I've been using the 1/4 in. outputs to a small mixer and through some monitors and the levels of both the L/R seem to be relatively even. When I get to the church, i've been coming out of the xlr outputs straight to the board and the FOH guy is telling me that he's getting significantly more signal from the left than the right. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a parameter I can check on inside the Helix that might be out of whack? Is it more likely an issue with the venue's lines/mix channels? I'm not setting up any presets with major differences between right vs left except for delays & reverbs...Maybe one amp 25 Left and another 25 right... Thoughts?
  7. Yeah, I know I wouldn't be able to hear anything. Was just wondering if there was a way to sync patch info from the Helix to the Editor to work on routing, assignments, controllers, snapshots...basically organizational work while I was away from the device. Then sync the patches back up when I plugged my laptop in later. Maybe it's just me but I'd find this useful. Thanks for the reply!
  8. Hey all, Got a Helix last week and have been loving it so far. I'm finding that it would be nice to be able to work on editing some patch/snapshot information when I'm away from the device. Does anyone know if this is possible? Thanks!
