  1. The presets I imported from my old Helix were badly affected by the bug that caused snapshot control assignments to be added where they were not previously present. Snapshot control was applied to all parameters in addition to the expression pedal control that was already present. There were up to 24 unwanted snapshot assignments in each of 50 presets. It tooks hours of tedious work to clear them all. The thought of snapshot control assignments being assigned to everything by default horrifies me!
  2. Not without redoing the update! It's just that I find that some important touchscreen buttons are right at the bottom of the screen, and immediately behind the knobs along the bottom of the touchscreen. When this happens, the touchscreen buttons are partially obscured by the knobs unless you are looking directly downwards, and getting my fingers onto the buttons means reaching over the knobs. This was particularly noticeable when dealing with the update, as the large buttons for the next steps in the process were all placed in that position. It just seems unnecessarily awkward when such buttons could easily be placed in clearer and more accessible places on the touchscreen. Or it may just be that I am ham-fisted!
  3. Maybe I missed some advice somewhere, but I just downloaded the update to my laptop and installed it. On the Stadium, it came up with an alert for an update, and I let it get on with it via wifi without connecting it to the laptop. It all worked fine. Was there an instruction I missed about connecting via USB?
  4. Is it just me, or are touchscreen buttons at the bottom of the screen behind the knobs, difficult to get at? It's not too bad in normal operation because the items at the bottom of the screen can usually be controlled by the knobs. However, when doing thr 1.21 update, all the important buttons (Download, Continue, Cancel, etc) were all tucked away there.
  5. I was already using mesh wifi but, when I got a router from my new ISP, my Ring Doorbell chimes stopped working along with several other items. I switched the new ISP router into "modem-only" mode and added a wired router before the mesh. And everything came back online.
  6. I do the same since I had problems with an ISP router being picky about what it would allow on the network.
  7. I started a thread on this subject a while back. Seems it has yet to be resolved.
  8. I agree with this. Blackstars have switches in their jack sockets. You may also find that you need a jack in the amp's Send.
  9. Something to bear in mind is that, when presets were imported from Helix Floor to Stadium on Firmware 1.1, snapshot control assignments were added to anything that had expression pedal control assignments. So where something was assigned to expression pedal control in Helix Floor, in Stadium it will have snapshot control AND expression control. It took me hours to clear up to 24 unwanted snapshot control assignments from about 50 imported presets. Even then I am still having glitches where the block fails to respond to the expression pedal, even though the assignment is on and the Max/Min settings are visible on the parameters, often for expression control of several parameters in a single block. I have cured most of these by clearing the expression control from one of the parameters, and then reassigning it. This will revive all the expression pedal control assignments in the block, even though I only removed and restored the assignment for one parameter. However, I have had instances where I have had to delete and recreate the block altogether as mentioned by PMJNugent above. Copying and pasting blocks also fails to include assignments. I suspect that, when an imported preset already had both snapshot and expression control assigned to a block, the corruption on import to Stadium would cause all sorts of problems. Combine this with the inconsistency when saving snapshots and presets with particular assignments to both EXP1 and EXP2 in different pedal positions, plus the various Global Settings that can have effects, and it all turns into a nightmare. There are so many variables in this that the possibilities of being able to reproduce particular scenarios for Line 6 Support are very remote.
  10. I would much rather see a Global Block feature (as in Fractal), where a block can be saved and where subsequent saved updates to that global block will propogate across all presets that use that block.
  11. Just to be sure, I would check for any volume pedals or snapshot settings that were saved at zero (or on imported presets where the import bug has added snapshot controls that were not there originally). I often have to cycle my expression pedal that sets volume up and down a few times before things come to life. I have also seen controls that don't work at all when opening a preset, and may control a parameter that has set itself to zero. If you switch to a preset that is suffering one of these anomalies, there can be silence.
  12. I have an EV30 working on my Stadium, and that is the way I did it. Of course, you will have the big dead zone at the heel end that all Boss expression pedals seem to have. My workaround for that is to fix a pad to the base under the heel end, so that it stops the pedal travel where the dead zone starts.
  13. Sorry it's not working for you lincolpbarr. My toggles seem to be sticking using the method I detailed, but it is still fragile and flakey. It has to be said that Fractal is undisputed champion of pedalboard layout flexibility, footswitch functionality, assignments and expression control. What you can do with an FC12 and a couple of expression pedals is awesome.
  14. I concur that the interaction between footswitch assignments and snapshots is a bit hit and miss in the Stadium at the moment. Many of my presets that I imported from Helix Floor have had unwanted Snapshot Bypass control and Snapshot Control of parameters added to them, in addition to the footswitch or expression pedal controllers that were there originally. This double-up of controls for the same parameters has been causing me no end of problems, and it is taking an age to go through all the presets and get rid of all the unwanted snapshot controls. The on/off status of the ring lights around the footswitch is also inconsistent. Have you tried activating the snapshot in question, and then also pressing the footswitch to check what happens to the parameters and the ring light? It may just be that the footswitch status is reversed.
  15. I use the same expression pedal (built in to Stadium) to reduce the amp Level as the Gain increases. I also use an external expression pedal, linked to the Output block, to control overall volume.
  16. Having updated to 1.2 I am coming across myriads of unwanted snapshot bypass and snapshot control. Most of the presets were imported when I was on 1.1, and the amps now also have snapshot control assigned in addition to the Expression control that was there originally. This was apparently a bug in 1.1 which has been fixed in 1.2. What is still happening is inconsistent copying/pasting of blocks with control assignments. When copying and pasting in the editor, the assignments disappear. This also often happens when using the touchscreen on the Stadium. However I have found that saving the original block as a favourite (using the touchscreen and not the editor), and then creating a new block from the favourite, does usually work and preserves the control assignments.
  17. I assign gain, levels, and EQ to an expression pedal, so that I can ramp up gain smoothly to any point I want, whilst making all the corresponding changes to level and EQ. I use snapshots to change amp channel, Bright switches etc, as well as delay settings. On all other models the change in channel is still within the gain/level limits of what can be controlled within the same assignments to the expression pedal. However, with the Brit 2203MV, the levels are so vastly different that this won't work. As soon as I use a snapshot to change from High to Low, the volume collapses to nothing. I agree that you could get decent sounds from Low and High channels by using a FS or snapshot to drastically alter the gain and volume settings, but these would be fixed and not variable via the expression pedal. As I said above, I can't believe that a Strat plugged into the Low Jack of a JCM800 with drive on 7.6 and MV on 4.5 would be so quiet. I accept that it would be quieter, say -6db which would be half the volume level, but not -15db. It would be nice if a JCM owner could chime in and enlighten me, but I do think that the differences in levels between the High and Low channels are too extreme to be realistic in this particular model.
  18. Amendment to my method for assigning Stomp Toggle On/Off to a pair of blocks as above. There were bug fixes in Firmware version 1.2 as below. Snapshot bypass states of blocks not maintained when importing various legacy presets -Snapshot bypass assignments are not always recalled when assigned in Editor This was very likely screwing up assignments in V1.1, and the effects will propogate into V1.2 for presets made or imported earlier. Make sure Snapshot Bypass is OFF for any blocks you are trying to assign to a stomp for toggling. Make sure both blocks are in the required active/bypass state before assigning to a footswitch, usually with one active and the other bypassed for a toggle switch. Assign both blocks to a footswitch in turn. Check that the operation of the footswitch does actually toggle the on/off state of the blocks. The light ring around the footswitch may not match your on/off requirement. If so, just touch the switch to trigger the capacitive block selection. You may need to do this twice to achieve the desired state. The focus on the touchscreen will switch to the other in the pair of assigned blocks, and the light will also change state. Save the preset quick! Be careful not to touch the switch again with fingers, as this will switch the focus and light on/off state again. Just use it as a stomp with a non-capacitive boot!
  19. I already make full use of the built-in expression pedal, and I would like an easier way of controlling volume out to my PowerCab than using the volume knob. I don't really want to add a Volume block to the end of all my presets. Is there any way to configure an external expression pedal as a global volume control?
  20. I don't think that this is a "fault" that would make a support ticket approriate. The default values for the Brit 2203MV (JCM800) are Jack - High, Drive 7.6, Master 4.5, Level -10. At these settings the output from single coils is around -20db and humbuckers -18db (there is not much difference due to the high-gain compression). However, if the Jack is switched to Low, the humbucker level is a quiet -28db, and single coils are a barely audible -35db. Obviously you can adjust Drive, Level, and Master, to get a decent sound with either High or Low, but actually using them together in the same preset is impractical. In the Helix Floor these two amp channels were two separate models. In the Helix Stadium, like several other amp variations, they have been combined in a single model. This obviously means that the combined model takes up a lot more DSP. This would be worthwhile if it were practical to use both High and Low channels in the same preset, but that is not the case. Plus, though I have never played a JCM800, I rather doubt that a Strat plugged into the Low input with drive on 7.6 and Master Volume on 4.5 would be that quiet!
  21. Gain and level the same. Just switch from Low to High to get your ears blown out. Alternatively, with the High channel set reasonably, the Low channel will be pretty much inaudible. It makes it virtually impossible to use both channels in the same preset, which rather negates any benefit from combining them in the same model. In the Helix floor they were two separate models, and would be in separate presets. With the two channels being so vastly mismatched in the Agoura model they can't both be used, so combining them in a single model is just wasting the extra DSP.
  22. After experimenting, I have answered my own question. The focus on the touchscreen will switch to the other in the pair of assigned blocks, and the light will also change state. Save the preset quick! Be careful not to touch the switch again with fingers, as this will switch the focus and light on/off state again. Just use it as a stomp with a non-capacitive boot!
  23. I have had some pops changing snapshots that I thought were coming from the amp, but appear to have more to do with delay blocks, and particularly changing timing from 1/4 note to dotted 1/8. I have also had pops changing channels on the AC30 model.
  24. Is there something off with the channel switching on this model? There is a massive jump in volume and gain when switching from low to high. I would expect a difference, but not that much. Using a snapshot to switch channels is not practical because of the huge jump in levels. I have had to put a 20db boost in front of the Low channel to get it anywhere near the volume level of the High channel on the same Drive setting.
  25. I used Helix Floor for years, and I often assigned 2 blocks to the same stomp. I did not have problems getting the right block to switch on or off with the other doing the opposite, and the Stomp light ring switching on with the toggle option I wanted. I have been building presets on the Stadium for the last few days, and I have been struggling with getting this to work reliably and, more importantly, sticking. It seems easier on the unit, using the capacitive touch on the stomp to select the appropriate block, but still a struggle. Even more difficult using the editor. Has anyone worked out a foolproof sequence for assigning 2 blocks to the same stomp, with each in the correct bypass state, with the stomp light ring coming on with the right block?
