  1. Great idea re: the IRs. I read that elsewhere as well and it makes sense. I wound up exporting all of the presets and using a program called DriveZ (http://www.inet.hr/~dragvola/), which is a tiny, free app. I created an Excel doc with all of the names of the presets and some columns next to each for the IR name (or names, since some use two). A bit of work, but now I have everything backed up and can view it offline (since I don't have the ability to get to the Helix much every day). Thanks for everyone's input!
  2. Hi all, I am on Windows 10. Thanks for the info! I know I can do a file list of a folder using the command prompt (old school sometimes works the best!) but was just wondering if there was something in the Helix Editor, etc. that did a listing from the Helix. I don't have anything backed up to a folder quite yet, but will be working on that next! I appreciate the follow-ups.
  3. Hi all, Just wondering if there is an easy way to export the list of all my presets and / or impulse responses I currently have in the Helix. I can type it all out manually, but figured there must be an easy way (like to an Excel .xls or .csv file). Does anyone know of a way? Thanks! B)
  4. Hi JazzInc - any luck? I'm looking to match these up as well. Great work!
  5. I ordered the same cable and had the exact same issue. Sweetwater must have received a bad batch or something. The only thing that worked for me was dissassebling the cable like MemphoBuckeye mentioned above. I returned it to Sweetwater after doing so, however. It all fits back together fine, but I don't want to have to do any work on a simple cable. Sweetwater, of course, was great about it. I wound up ordering one from here which should be here soon: https://btpa.com/98-030-004-XXX.html
  6. Well those don't work :( The pins on the back are just a tad bit wide, so I'd have to drill new holes, which I'd rather not. Well back to the search...
  7. Thanks! I picked up these today: https://www.pitbullaudio.com/fender-locking-tuners-chrome.html - they are the 2 pin type and look like they'll match up. Here's hoping!
  8. Hi OP! I'm getting my Variax Standard this week and am looking at doing the same with the tuners? Do you know the size and type you put in? Sorry for the noob question here, I'm not sure which locking tuners will work with the Standard. Thanks!
  9. Nice sounds! Any word when the new pack will be ready?
  10. What case is it that you are using there?
  11. Thanks for all the replies! Sounds like I'm not alone in thinking about a way this can work.
  12. Hi all! I see that in an update last year, Line 6 added functionality to engage the wah when the expression pedal is moved from a certain position, which is very cool. Is there a way to also / or rather set it to engage when moved at all, and have it turn off when movement stops? The Behringer Hellbabe Wah is a cheaper wah I had in the past that would engage whenever you set your foot on it. I know that's probably not possible on the Helix, since the pedal works differently, but I'd love to replicate that functionality. Thanks!
  13. Will do when I get home. Thanks for the tones! Can't wait to try them.
  14. Thanks! So I noticed those files at l6t files (rather than the .hlx files) up on CustomTone. Do they work / are compatible with the Helix?
  15. And holy crap, nice AIC / Jerry Cantrell tone!!! Mind sending me that patch as well? Or if you have these up on CustomTone, just let me know and I'll grab 'em from there. Thanks!
  16. Cool. Great idea and info. Thank you!
  17. Nice work! Yeah I'd love that patch if you don't mind sending it over. Thanks man!
  18. Wow good call - he has some great patches. Thanks for the tip!
  19. Awesome. I really appreciate all the replies. Great suggestions. Thanks!
  20. Thanks for the reply! I'm pretty sure that I am not bypassing the cabs totally, then. I assume then I should make sure to bypass them in order to get the IRs to work correctly?
  21. I have been using IRs for a while now on the PC (using a DAW like Reaper) and they have been super easy to get set up and sounding the way I need (just with free modeling plug-ins, or BIAS FX and BIAS Amp). I am starting to use my Helix (just got it!) but am having a tough time using the same IRs to get the same tones on the Helix that I do on the PC (so I can put the PC away and just jam). Here are the IRs I use for some Metallica tones that are insanely spot on: And this is the link directly to the IRs (which are free). Anyone have any advice for using a simple metal amp and then applying the IRs? I have tried to use them with some of the already created patches. Some have a bit of the IR sound (event though the mix is set to 100%) and some don't make any difference at all. Thanks!!!
  22. Hello all! I am brand new to the Helix world. Just bought it last week and bought a few of Glenn DeLuane's tones as well. I am looking to get the tone from David Gilmour on Shine On You Crazy Diamond, but the tone he has in the live PULSE concert. Thanks for any advice!
