  1. Thanks...good thought. But of course it would just be annectdotal. I really need Line 6 to stand behind its product.
  2. communication protocol ...exactly the issue. The idea of USB (amonst many things) was that IRQ settings and hardware configuration etc., would comply with the USB protocol. In this instance Windows Code 10 is saying Windows CANT COMMICATE with device. IE: device wont start. NOT that the device/software/driver etc., will work...JUST that it is in communcation (IE: NO exclamation mark in device manager). DO NOT lecture me with "stomping foot" comments this is $1000's of dollars of hardware and time wasted.
  3. Thanks, and I know people here do care, but also defend Line 6. Actually only have the one Helix LT. But I do use my Variax with Workbench USB. No problems. But with the Helix LT the USB crashes, meaning out of the blue the yellow exclamation mark in device manager (and of course the Helix device not found message in editor). I am willing to accept that everyone with USB issues (including me) are just anecdotal evidence. BUT Line 6 needs to supply a "certified in compliance with their hardware" list of laptops. How else are we to be asssured? Oh yeah...UNIVERSAL serial bus. That's the point of Universal Serial Bus. (yes, among other things). I am willing to cross ship they can charge my credit card until they receive the old one back. But I don't believe it's the hardware. I am going all out to solve this...but i am disapointed with support, for sure. Just so its not all negativity here...I use the Variax JTV59 all the time, great build quality, same with the Helix LT.
  4. Great to hear. But it still is not connecting. I offered to buy a laptop that Line 6 will certify to comply. Days go by with no support solution. What do YOU now suggest. Purchasing a $700 laptop just HOPING it will work?
  5. That's what I said...it's driver issue. USB is Universal Serial Bus. And MANY people report it. If they cant give me a certified computer that will 100% work with Helix (not an anecdotal statement) what does that mean? Am supposed to HOPE it will work with another computer? I offered to BUY a laptop specifically for Helix/Editor with a Line 6 guarantee it would work. So far no answer ...except anecdotal. Is this professional equipment?
  6. This is poor driver implentation from Line 6. USB...UNIVERSAL SERIAL BUS. Means just that, UNIVERSAL. It should never be an issue with Windows connecting to a USB device. I have not seen an issue with USB connectivity in years or in decades. I asked Line 6 to give me the name of a PC laptop that would work 100% for sure, the support person said, "If you're curious, I've never had any driver or connectivity issues on my Lenovo Think Pad here at my desk. works." I am NOT curious, I need a product that WORKS. I'm still trying to get Line 6 support stand behind their product (Helix). Clearly this is a issue that many people are encountering. Frankly this is unacceptable.
