I got my helix earlier in the week and I've used mine with a katana 100 straight into effects loop and it sounds alright, it's hard to tell at home as I can't really crank the katana. I don't have any PA system at home to try. Will try it straight into pa next practice session and compare between sound from the katana. At the moment my plan is to try a combo of katana and pa. Using the katana as a monitor for myself by going out on one of the loops before an IR. Then the main output goes to pa after an IR block. I will compare the two and come back here with results if I remember. Another option I may potentially explore is 4 cable method and see about using the midi commands from helix instead of the GA-FC (which is what I used along with pedals before the helix).

Just out of interest, are you playing through headphones, through an amp, or into a speaker?

Only had my helix LT a few days is there not a way to change the preset up and down buttons and reassign them? Never played the helix floor, but when I read the differences between it and the LT I am sure it said you can control 10 pedals in stomp box mode rather than 8 on the LT. Does this mean the bank up and down can be replaced with stomps where as you can't on the LT? Don't see why it shouldn't be an option on the full fat helix to be able to swap the bank up and down if you want to. The only reason I can think is because patches wouldn't work on the LT version with the virtual scribble strips as it only shows 8 buttons. I can see why it's easy to make the mistake when in snapshot mode in a dark environment.
