V3.0, first update I've done on the Stomp that went smooth,no lockups or retries etc. I had hoped to add one or two blocks to my existing presets, mainly S&R loops, maybe wah/volume.The update accomplished that in most cases, many presets now 7 and some even 8 blocks. Really nice to have User defaults and Favorites ,great time saver. Command center will come in handy too. Why did we want it on a 3 switch device Line 6? Because some of may be using midi-enabled devices in loops we might like to send data to for particular presets. The poly pitch stuff works fine for bass ,chordal stuff, octave divide, nice 8 string bass with the "12 string" feature. Glitch delay is quirky ,( may find a use for it), as is the looper. Never used that much anyway. I think there wasn't much need for more fuzz/distortions, Helix already has a ton. As a bassist don't use a lot of OD/fuzz/distortion, (have a SA Aftershock if called for), but the Bighorn Fuzz sounds pretty good on the bass. I had hoped for some updated synth engines, that would have been a better area to concentrate on. I was also disappointed with the lack of bass specific additions. But, overall a great update, looking forward to the next!. Thanks to Line 6 for continuing to improve and support the product, if they come out with an even more powerful compact, pedalboard friendly unit, I will be on board.

Not another fake 3.0 post!... Wait, this one's real! Product support and updates is one of the reasons I switched to Line 6. Very grateful to the Line 6 team. Some really great features in the update.I have not updated yet(just got in) but it seems not much dedicated to bassists. I think there was more than enough guitar amps and distortion options already. Maybe 3.1 for bass?

I enjoy my Stomp...could it be better ,Yes!. While I don't think I will give it up for the GT-1000 core, the Core does have things the Stomp is missing. For me the parallel path/sub-mixing on the Core is something lacking in the Stomp. Also an overall Bass setting and dedicated bass effects on the Core is very attractive (and sorely needed on Stomp) I'm hopeful v3.0 will add some of these desired features to the Stomp to keep bassists interested in the Line 6 gear. If it were more affordable I would consider getting a Core for comparison and most likely use in concert with the Stomp. I don't know if Boss is proactive with updates like Line 6 either (one of the reasons I left my Zoom behind). I would think Line 6 is paying attention(they seem to respond to user input(?) ) and will wish to keep users (esp. bassists) from moving away from their product. I am not one of them ,but also I think it would be foolish of Line 6 to ignore the advantages of the Core. As far as blocks..a couple more blocks in v3.0 for utility blocks(volume/wah,Fx loops) works for me. Core or helix....16,24,32 blocks? Do you even remember what your axe sounds like?

Thanks. That makes it clearer who was " wild guessing "and who was using common sense and reasoning.... Way too serious...let's just enjoy the update when it comes..

I use the CS7. You can use the two cables mentioned, green L6 plugs into polarity reverse then into power port. However I decided to get a single cable 2.1 to 2.5 mm. I got it on Amazon, works great. One less connection to worry about.

More than enough distortion/fuzz and guitar amps. More bass choices would be nice. However synth, filters and pitch I would consider the MOST important areas to add effects. Reverb could use some new models too.

Common sense. I agree with codamedia. The Stomp has one chip, but the same one used by the all the Helix family (at least from what I've read). The HX also has one chip and can do 9.(12 in v3.0?) A single path on the floor can do 16. Sure seems that was by design, not necessity. Six blocks fit well in the display, but we have to scroll for most parameters anyway. I can do most things I need with the 6 (and other pedals) but it would be nice to have the full use of the DSP to add effects in the loops or an additional controller to the 6 blocks.

I'm new to Helix line but been using synths for a lot of years. I actually have a patch somewhat similar to that in my Stomp. It is possible to do with the limited synth models in the unit with layering and effects, certainly better than distorted guitar. It won't sound like a real string section ,but in a mix should work. The stomp has limited blocks so on an LT or full Helix even easier. I created it to play on the upper range of a bass, but should work for guitar.

I am using it with bass, My previous main processor was the Zoom B3n and various single effects pedals.I have only had the Stomp a few weeks despite some short-comings its here to stay. Comparison: Size goes to Stomp. Front panel on the fly edit goes to Zoom ,preset to stomp mode to tuner easier on Zoom. Amp models goes to Stomp (EBS 360 in Zoom was great too!) and the addition of IR's which Zoom does not have. Got some great IR's on the net to fill out the Stomp. Midi and routing, interface goes to Stomp ,Zoom doesn't have it! Eq/dynamics...about equal, a few preferred on the Zoom though, (Dual comp,ZNR) OD/distortion- not a big user of dirt but both Stomp and Zoom are Ok (I have a Source Audio aftershock-better than both) Pitch/Filter definitely goes to to Stomp. The single, dual pitch and EBS Octobass are all good. Filters go to Stomp The synth models are better than Zoom in many ways ,(lots of room for improvement though) Delays are about equal. Modulation also equal, though Zoom since its a "bass" processor seems out-of -the box better, less tweaking. Reverb I would say goes to Zoom. To me they sound deeper and richer perhaps again due to Zoom being geared at bass. It doesn't seem likely but the HX reverbs seem thin (running mono, but did on the Zoom too). Since I am a bassist only light use anyway. Looper..not a big user but i think Zoom has longer loop times. (and along with the drum machine doesn't count in # of effects) Less important but convenient...Zoom has a metronome/drum track and a dedicated 1/8 aux input for mp3 player, etc. Most surprising: The Stomp synth stuff. Created quite a few patches. Not great for dedicated classic bass synth patches, but got some great sounds/layers, even faux brass and sax. Disappointments: Lack of dedicated "bass" effects. This saves on tweaking/EQ etc. I actually know more bassists using Stomp than guitarists! 3 note generator and 4 voice synth...just a drone???? The 6 block thing????? Why wouldn't it have the same as the LT if using the same chip? I could live with it easily if send/returns didn't count as a block..Who thought that was a good idea? Update process...following directions crashed at both updates 2.91 and 2.92... scary for new user! Another main reason for changing: Support! Line 6 seems to support their products with updates and ideascale. I had contacted Zoom many times about updates, looks like they abandoned the B3n already. I think the next HX update(3.0) will remove some of the disappoinment issues...at least two more blocks for send/return and Command center functions if I heard that right. (after all got Stomp to run in midi setup) Hopefully, more octave/filter/synth models and more modern bass amps/cabs (More GK,Hartke,EBS models) Still, fun to re-create some of my old classic bass amps with the ones in the Stomp, but bring on the new! With expanded features I expect the Stomp to shrink my pedalboard. If i could do without some of my single pedals I might go for a an LT...wish it was smaller though Just curious on other users view and insights. Thanks.
