  1. Agreed on the Tube change. Matched pair of JJ tubes EL34s and a tung Sol 12ax7. Made a great sounding amp sounded even better. Then for extra sauce I put a Weber Bulldog speaker in place of that ice pick in the forehead inducing stock speaker - buttah - as they say here in Boston! I love the sounds this amp can produce.
  2. First sample sounds warmer, slightly rounder (I prefer it). Second one is brighter less "round". My guess: clip 1 is the JTV59 clip 2 JTV 69
  3. Hi - Hard to resist the G string jokes - but I have the same issues with my JTV 59. In my situation the g string piezo was intermittent sometimes would work, sometimes not. Increasingly, it is not working. Dropped it off today at a line 6 repair center near my home. I'll let you know the prognosis.
  4. Hi there - Good question! I picked up an Orange micro terror and it sounds killer. Has the Orange tone you are looking or and works great when plugged into the speaker on the DT25. I keep it on hand as a backup for gigs. I will say that I replaced the original DT25 speaker with a Weber blue dog. Sounds way better! The original speaker sounded so harsh and directional. Total ice pick to the forehead. Good luck!
  5. Hi folks - to my ear, I found the speaker in the DT 25 very direction and a bit harsh = Ice pick. I replaced it with a Weber blue dog and the ice pick has been removed from my forehead. The blue dog has great clarity w/o the ice pick. I have since purchased a 1 x 12 extension cab loaded with a Weber Silver bell and the two speakers make one sweet sounding combo! This also allows me different micing options for recording. Very cool. At first I went with the beam blocker and it did help significantly - I would recommend that option as a viable solution. good luck
