  1. Of course I believe Digital_Igloo when he says it's not coming. I've been doing this same type hw/fw/sw development for many decades, albeit in a different industry. I'm not saying it would be simply dropping code in and recompiling to add to Helix Edit, but knowing how software is developed and apparent Line 6 modularity, it would be low hanging fruit. Think about it... We're only talking adding it to Edit, not the Helix itself. So a Windows application. Focus View interface/software has already been written for all the amp models available on Helix. All Focus View software modules are readily available, development complete. The only thing Focus View would do in Edit to interact with the amp models is 'turning the knobs' for the settings - it just does so in a very uniquely cool visual manner. The same knobs are all ready there in Edit, and we can adjust them on the fly. So the only thing that needs developing is the interface between Focus view software and Edit. It would look/act/feel just like the Stadium version of Edit. All this assumes Focus View will be available on the Stadium version of Edit. But if it's there, to me it seems like it would not take much. I also understand software development and I'm sure their resources aren't unlimited, so it's a matter of investment priorities and return. I would think there might be a business case for adding Focus View to Edit to keep Helix the premier platform in it's price range. Adding cool features is how Line 6 has kept Helix relevant for over 10 years now. Just my 2 cents...
  2. I was wondering (location being beautiful Calabasas). Happy/fortunate he noticed and relied ... so I guess that's that. I get that Focus View is a feature to separate Helix from Stadium. But man, it would not take much to add to edit for the existing user base...
  3. Well then - back to my original thought... If all legacy amp models are indeed included in Stadium and the legacy amps are set up to use Focus View, it would be very simple to add that functionality to HX Edit. Hoping Line 6 hears this...
  4. OK - so Stadium will only have the 22 Agoura amp models at launch. I thought Stadium included the 22 Agoura models plus all the amps from Helix. This being the case, yep it would be some work. But at the same time think other modelers will jump on this bandwagon...
  5. Helix already does include the hooks for focus functionality - we can make amp adjustments on Helix thru Edit presently. My understanding is that Focus View is available for all amps on Stadium, not just Agoura amps? If this is true mapping each corner to amp setting is already done, just a matter of implementing a GUI on Helix Edit. I see other modeler companies implementing this concept too, thinking Line 6 might have to do it at some point to keep up with the Jones'. Would like to see Line 6 leading the pack with Helix too, along with Stadium.
  6. Seems like it would be a straightforward thing to add to HX Edit for the established Helix user base. Would be a GREAT tool for the non-Stadium users, and I think this feature alone would pull customers away from the other modeler/effects at that price point. Seems like it would be a good business move...
  7. Has anyone heard if Line 6 will be bringing Focus View to HX Edit? Would be really cool for the folks who can't step up to Stadium yet...
  8. Wanted to follow up on this: Yes I can assign the lower 3 footswitches to presets in command center. When each preset is selected, upper 3 footswitches are assigned to control stomps in that selected preset. Footswitches to select the presets need to be programmed in each preset using command center. Global Settings: preset numbers 000~127, stomp mode footswitches set to 6 switches. So this allows you to effectively program up 'banks' of 3 presets in stomp view, switching between 'banks' via preset mode, with 3 footswitches to control stomps in each preset. Pretty cool!!! Think I'll add a Dunlap DVP4 to have the complete setup in compact form factor...
  9. USB plugged into a laptop, but laptop also connected to a KVM monitor so that's the loop. Thanks guys!
  10. Using the same power conditioner and speaker (QSC K12.2) as my rack unit. Rack unit is clean as can be. Stomp XL hums like a mo fo when USB is plugged into computer. Should I exchange units?
  11. Thanks Data, I appreciate the reply. I’ve watched several of Steve’s and other videos but it’s still not clear to me if the XL can be set up as I described. Seems like it might be doable, but not being able to mess around in command center with an XL myself it’d be neat if someone could confirm before I buy.
  12. Searched for a bit but didn't come across anything, looking to buy a Stomp XL for a more compact setup than the Floor. Wondering if I can set up the XL so that the bottom 3 switches, down/A/B, switch between presets, and the upper 3 switches, up/C/D, turn on/off effects for selected preset? Can I do the above and also set up the mode switch to switch between the 3+3 switch setup described and be able to select preset banks where the up/down buttons work to select presets? In other words: Have the 6 programmable switches set up for bottom 3 to select presets & top 3 to turn on/off effects in selected preset. Then if I want a different bank of presets -> hit the mode switch, use up/down switches to scroll between preset banks, then hit the mode switch again to have switches set up for bottom 3 presets and top 3 effects. And all this displayed on the screen, of course? Thanks a bunch!
  13. I'm very careful with these cables between the controller and rack unit. Line 6's Spider Valve also uses an ethernet cable but if you use the wrong one, a cross-over CAT-5 cable for example, you will fry the processor board in the amp...
  14. just plugged in to my Helix floor, mic input straight thru to multi output - I see signal at the mic input and hear sound out. I'm bummed, thinking the mic input is bad on my rack? Is there a way to check/confirm? Anyone know what that costs to repair?
  15. Cannot get any sound froguitar plus mic.hlxm the mic input on my Helix Rack. Really really hoping it's user error. preset is attached. phantom power is off, mic gain is set at 15dB (cranked it up to 60dB and no change), mic in low cut at 75Hz (tried it off also). I see no indication of signal on the mic input on the Helix rack display. Help please?
  16. Only guitar input, thought it was set that way - thank you for catching. I'll take care of that. I was having some weirdness with the EXP pedal (different thread). After a save & full reset I'm not seeing this now. Hoping it was just something weird that's been cleared up now...
  17. MkIV Lead.hlx Here you go... PS - footswitch mode is preset/stomp
  18. Should add I am running a Helix Rack with the Helix Control and Line 6/Mission expression pedal. Don't think t makes a difference but just in case... datacommando - yep, exp1 set to Global. Thank you for the reply, will try resetting. theElevators - yes EXP1 is selected in all presets (I run in preset/stomp mode on the footswitches). Am not using EXP2/3.
  19. Newbie to the game, my take so far (coming from decades with tube amps)... I envision two different setups with the Helix. First, primary for me, is Helix going to FOH and in monitors. For an FRFR speaker at home I went with the same as we use for our mains (QSC K12.2). Reason being I wanted to dial in Helix hearing what was going to be coming out of our PA as close as possible (without the subs, but...). Second setup I haven't decided on yet, which would be for guitar not going thru FOH. I know I could get by with the Helix + K12.2. But a power amp + guitar cab has old school appeal and I see many comments about how well this works. To me, this is along the same line as a Powercab or Tonemaster FRFR and I already have a couple nice cabs. The plus side to this is old school having your amp thumping behind you playing live. But also appealing, in the more modern sense, when not going thru FOH is going with a pair of smaller mains (8" or 10") and running stereo. Have heard a couple guys doing this and it sounds really really good. I haven't started working on stereo setup yet, only so many hours in the day and feel like I'm only 85% there in tweaking my basic amp/effects settings.
  20. I have preset blocks divided between two lines (two DSPs?). I've noticed the input to the second line showing signal/flashing when there is no guitar input (input to the first line) or output from the first line. Is this normal?
  21. I have EXP1 set up as a volume pedal after amp & cab blocks. I have EXP1 set to 'Global' in global settings - I want volume to remain where the pedal is set when I switch channels. I recently built a new bank of patches by copying from existing patches in the same setlist folder and then making adjustments to the amp model. After making adjustments and saving the one preset I adjusted, I found that when I switched channels the volume would change - i.e. not remain where the pedal was set. WEIRDNSS: the volume would stay where the pedal was set on some presets, but then change volume when I switched to others. FURTHER WEIRDNESS: if I hit the same channel switch twice, *sometimes, not consistently* the volume would first be not where the pedal was set (say 100%) then hit the same channel switch again and the volume would change to where the pedal was set. Is there a setting in a menu somewhere I'm missing that might be causing this? Or something else I'm missing or might try to 'reset' Helix if it's in a weird state? PS - First time using the Helix for a gig this weekend (been using tube amp up until now), hope to get this sorted out before ...
  22. How would I check that and correct if necessary? On the Windows properties page (system>sound>properties) I see Provider: Line 6, driver sate: 1/12/2024, driver version 2.0.0.0. I'm thinking this is the Windows driver, not the ASIO?
  23. First time using Helix to record digitally, simply using Windows Sound Recorder app. Easy to set up and make the recording but the recorded volume level is very low. I cannot find a way to adjust recording volume on Sound Recorder - I have Windows input settings for Helix set to 2 channels, 16-bit, 48Khx, input volume 100%. Cannot find a way to adjust the digital output on Helix. Spent some time searching but have not found anything. Did learn about digital recording vs analog, and lower digital recording levels, did see posts about turning up channel volumes or other Helix blocks, but still seems to me like there has to be a way to adjust the digital output volume. Help please?
  24. Not at home to try this - will moving the cab to the end of the signal chain change my tone(s), will I need to re-tweak everything again?
  25. Been reading some other threads and am confused... Looking to send XLR with cab sim to FOH and 1/4" without cab sim to a power amp/cab. My presets use both lines/DSPs: wah-compressor-amp-cab-volume pedal on first line, gain boost-phaser-delay-verb on second line. Do I put cab last in the chain and split outputs before the cab (does not seem 'right' to me)? Is there a global setting to turn off cab sim per output? Is there a setting in the cab's themselves to control sending to specific outputs?
