  1. Solved! I was using the front USB jacks on my computer. You need to use the ports on the back. Apparently, the front jacks are similar to using a hub. A Line 6 employee was good enough to educate me on thegearpage.net last night.
  2. Sorry, gateway PC DX4860, 3.30ghz, 6 gigs of RAM, 64bit
  3. Windows 7, sp1, and standard USB 2.0
  4. So, it stopped in the middle of updating and now I just get a black screen that says "boot failure. Entered update mode!". It won't even allow me to factory reset. Thinking this may be going back to the factory...
  5. My Helix is not recognized by my computer most of the time. I've installed the driver, and after doing a factory reset, turning it on and off, I can eventually get Line 6 Updated to see the Helix. However, when I try to install updates I'm getting errors (I have a help desk ticket in, too...but my experience with that has not been great in the past). So, now I have no presets and can't install the updates to the firmware, and can't connect at all to the Helix edit app. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Joe
  6. Has anyone had an issue with their spdif volume being way too low? I can't hear 1/4 of the volume from the Helix through my monitors as I do any other track, and that's with the volume blasted all the way up. I plug in the old HD500, and it's plenty loud. Plug in Helix, and It's horribly quiet. Anyone have any ideas? I also have a help desk ticket open because my computer won't recognize Helix as being connected when I try to use the Helix edit app or the Line 6 updater. Thanks for any help! Joe
  7. I've reinstalled the drivers after removing them. Bjnette, I use a presonus firestudio or M-audio firewire solo as my sound card for my DAW, but whether I try to use one of those or the stock sound card out of the DAW, I get the same results. Punkyboy, when the driver is uninstalled the soundcard works, but that means I then can't use line 6 edit.
  8. This is still annoying me. Does anyone have any ideas????
  9. Thanks for responding. I guess i'm unaware of what that update might be. I have my computer set up for automatic downloads and installations of updates, so i must have missed something, but this has been going on for about 3-4 months, i'm guessing. shouldn't the 'update for the update' have also been automatically downloaded and installed?
  10. Hi everyone, I've had this problem for quite some time. Whenever the POD HD500 is plugged into my computer via USB (which is use constantly for L6edit), Windwos 7 will not let me change the default audio device for listening to music (outside of my DAW), and furthermore the pod won't allow me to play music through media player, etc. So, I have to constantly plug and unplug the USB, which is more than annoying. I've gone in through every audio setting I can find, and it literally won't allow me to change the default device to my stock sound card or my firewire solo. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! -joe
  11. Hey guys I'm still having some major difficulties with my podhd 500 after a couple years. I had a few old posts, but never really got anywhere with them, so i've reworded things here, hoping i might be able to get some help. I'm using an M-audio Firewire Solo in Sonar x1 on a Windows 7 machine. I've always used the s/pdif output from the pod hd to go into the Firewire Solo, however the Firewire Solo keeps coming up with the error "mismatch!" when trying to do this, which obviously won't allow me to use the audio driver for sonar. I've checked to ensure that the sample rate and buffer size in Sonar match what the pod is set at, but still nothing. This is very frustrating, as I find s/pdif to be the most clear of the recording outputs from the pod. I've tried different cables, and all everything is running the most current updates, although it's happened since I've had the pod, so I don't think that makes a difference. Does anyone have any ideas on this? Also... Since installing the latest drivers for the pod hd500, I'm unable to change my default audio device in Windows 7 when the pod is plugged in through usb. This results in my only being able to play audio through certain programs. It still works in sonar, but windows itself defaults the pod as the soundcard whenever the usb is plugged in. This means I can't have it plugged in to use L6 edit while listening and playing along with music in WMP. I bring up the playback devices, try to disable the pod, or set the default as the m-audio, and neither does a darn thing. Any ideas??? Thanks! -joe
  12. So,ever since I got a machine with Windows 7 a few years back I've had this problem, but it's gotten significantly worse lately. Whenever my computer is restarted, my M-Audio Firewire Solo (with latest drivers) will not sync to the spdif of my Line 6 Pod HD 500. It keeps saying 'mismatch', despite the sample rate matching on both. Trying to toggle the sample rate on either, or both, does not fix the problem. I have to continually reboot my computer until it will allow the sync. There is no pattern that consistently works, such as turning on either unit first. It has taken me as long as 45 minutes of continually rebooting before it works, and it's getting extremely old. Does anyone have any ideas whatsoever that I can try??? Thanks for any help or ideas! -Joe T.
  13. Hi all, So, I don't use the wah-wah very often these days when playing or recording. Today, while attempting to record a part that i wanted the wah for, I chose a preset and became frustrated that rocking the pedal after hitting the toe click just resulted in it sounding as though the pedal was stuck in the toe-down position. I assumed it was the preset and went on to others...the same thing occurred. I went to set list 1, which are presets i haven't ever messed with (had my pod for a few years now), and even those stock presets with the wah on them either sounded as though the pedal was stuck in the toe-down position, or hitting the toe click button resulted in no volume (I'm assuming that for these functions, perhaps the pedal was set for mix instead of position). Does anyone have any ideas? I've searched, but haven't seen any fix for this. Thanks!! -Joe
