  1. For a home studio environment I would stick with the monitors. The DT 25 would certainly give you some amazing control capability and added tonal options but for what you are doing it may be overkill unless you plan on playing out and would need it onstage.
  2. There have been some complaints about the new JTV HD acoustics since they add some room ambience to the actual emulation. Since this cannot be removed some users preferred the previous sounds. Also don't forget to play with your tone knob as this will control the compression and (I think) the microphone position relative to the sound hole. (Simulated)
  3. This may not be optimal for you but for FRFR output onstage I use a Behirnger Keyboard amp for one side of the HD (as a monitor) output and then send the other side directly to the board.
